hw abt T240? but deres a 16:10 wit full HD for RM2k+ i think..16:10 = u like black bars + rich, unless low end nt full HD model..16:9 full hd
*
hmm bro are u certain that T240 is good for gaming? I saw somewhere on the web they say its not good for gaming - cnet. 16:10 <-- i like black bars? Meaning 16:10 can view anything that 16:9 can view but 16:9 cant view anything that 16:10 can view? shakehead.gif

Edited : Btw, I found myself in between samsung t240, DELL 2408wfp A01 & benq g2400wd.. anyone having either/both of these can please tell me your experience with gaming and movies? Thanks..

16:9 is "full" HD huh?
all other formats not "full"? please clarify

im using 16:10
black bars are sumthing that will ALWAYS be there even if u use 16:9. so if u use 16:9, means u like black bars?
im using the T240
using it for gaming most of the time. no problem there.
no eyesore from morning till the next dawn. tired, but not eye pain from monitor
no bleeding from all corners
backlight is at optimum level, not too bright

reflection from the screen corners can be distracting though. coz its glossy
not sure if other glossy LCD have this problem. but its me being sensitive visually

bro I read that t240 does not have support for 1:1 pixel mapping but I don't play XBOX or PS3 (people have said that images will stretch to 1920x1200 no matter what you prefer). Does this really affect the ordinary PC gamers like me? O_o . Btw, why is it so much more expensive than the BenQ lol. Specs on the papers seems the same

im not playing XboX or PS3 too
even in the future if I buy a console, I dont think it will be sharing the same monitor (problem solved)
So it dont really affect PC gamers like us

T240 is even more expensive than the same paper-spec of its old brother
beats me  rclxub.gif

lol how to help you when you don't respond properly. You need to state your budget, size of monitor and what will you be using it for.

BTW, is BenQ G2400WD same as BenQ G2400W ? http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=...=g2400wd&page=7

Not same la. They are two different models, with G2400WD having a little bit extra features.

I just realised there are other variations G2400WT (with adjustable height) , G2400WE, G2400WG wow lol. Really wtf. Any benQ G2400W or Dell 2408wfp user here? icon_question.gif

help sad.gif well, basically i was just thinking of getting a 24" monitor to complement my new rig. I just wanna know what is the best bang for buck 24"(1920x1200) monitor there is out there currently.
btw, is it really horrible to play ps3 using 1920x1200 res monitors? i mean, i dun mind black bars, but will that res makes gaming much more less enjoyable(display-wise) than a lower res monitor?

you can refer to the post above smile.gif. The 1st site has the ranking done for you (although it is not a complete list). I've been searching for the "bestest" 24" monitor for gaming. Unfortunately there is no such thing! Lol. If your budget is below RM1k, BenQ G2400W is highly recommended (look for the link above, 1.9MS input lag). If you're willing to pay more (like me) I'm actually going for DELL 2408wfp. Although it has input lag of around 30ms (which won't be noticeable unless you put two different monitors together & compare) but the quality of the picture kinda blows me away so yeah. I think there's no problem with ps3 on either of these two. They both have 1:1 pixel mapping/ fill and aspect. I guess for 1080p contents the dell or benq will show the exact ratio of the content and image quality with slight black bars (extra space doesnt hurt heh). Feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong. I gathered all the info I've collected and just merely summarised it here. ^^

yea i have read those links before posting here. just thought i'd get some local opinions as well biggrin.gif. and i had thought of getting G2400WD, but currently only saw 1 thread at garage sale selling, so i wanted to widen my options a little bit by asking here. but thank u very much for replying though, i really appreciate it and i might just buy that benq monitor after all biggrin.gif.

another thing, so basically if i want to play ps3 using a high res lcd, then i just look for one with 1:1 pixel mapping and it should pretty much be enough for a great ps3-gaming experience? did i get it right?
*
Yup. Well, you have all the 3 options aspect , 1:1, full. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3269/242495...642d6507e_b.jpg <---- 1:1 /Aspect of the BenQ G2400w(u'll get black bars, some commented those black bars flicker but I think u wont be moving up down left right when u play games right lol) . Refer to this page and the review by 10e. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1298311. smile.gif
