How many people will be viewing that screen? If more than 4 then you should definitely not consider monitor which using TN panel technology as it has a poor viewing angle. Otherwise any TN panel will do.

I think Samsung has good reputation, if you got the budget then go for it.

Care to take any hi-quality shot of it at different angle? How's your user experience with it so far? Satisfied?

Hopefully you won't see any dead pixel.

BTW there's also a case where you buy something with a price, then found another exact product selling with price much cheaper than what you paid. There's nothing wrong about it, as long as the difference is not beyond RM 100. Other than that you'll be fine.

Put simply, let's consider a scenario whereby BioShock 2 is just being released at RM250. You bought it at its release date with the price. And the next thing you know, 2 months later the price is cut to RM180. You feel regret for buying it too early. But what you DIDN'T notice is that you get a chance to play the game before other who bought it with the later price. You might even showing off your unlockables and teasing your friend (which bought later on) with your accomplishment and experience with it. cool2.gif Well, that's what I did and this situation hold true in iPhone gaming industry. The pricing for app is unstable.

hey d.sync, so wht monitor you getting ?
wanna get acer h233h as well since many ppl getting it.
all said it's good.
s2409w suffer sound lag or not ill get it already
*
The seller for S2409W still haven't reply me yet. And yes I would drop it off my consideration if the sound lag issue still persist. Some even claims that Dell is trying to clear the stock so that they can come out with a new model line LOL. H233H, on the other hand, just released on January (I think) so its future stand is still unpredictable. So far I only heard minor backlight bleeding issue, nothing more.

Previously I had also consider ViewSonic VX2433WM, but drop it off since it has input selecting issue. It just can't remember the last input selected (well, sometimes it does, but on random occasion), although the manufacturer claim it can. It does have various input, including component which other LCD I mentioned didn't have. The main point here is, you'll need to have VGA input (eg laptop) to access the main menu, then only you can select which source you want to input. But I highly doubt I'll be using it since my main usage would be DVI-D and HDMI (Acer 5920G Laptop). Wonder what's it like seeing two Acer 'brother' working together LOL!

The drawback for H223H is the viewable screen, which is 50cm compared to other 24" or maybe 23.6" model which has a viewable size of 52cm+ horizontally. Aside from that its a good choice.

It'll only be days ahead until I make up my final point, since I'm still on my exam. Well, will update my choice once I get over with it. Until then, it would be either S2409W or H233H.

hmm okay.
good luck with yr exams.
im prolly getting acer h233h glossy biggrin.gif

i dont mind the if sound lag for 4 - 5 secs, but my friend said sometimes in game the crash sound will lag, but only happen to gt5 tho.
*
The main reason I don't like glossy is that it acts like a mirror. Feel weird seeing my image while viewing movie. While other like it, especially while watching movie, I don't. BTW the 5920G's I'm using now has glossy screen, which I don't like. Anyway it isn't that reflective.

What's your friend thinking of the S2409W he got. Any - comment?

Okay.. sharing my experience now. The monitor itself..

-the design is nice..
-the touch sensitive menu keys.. not very sensitive.
-HDMI works fine
-viewing angle is fine for a TN panel..
-display quite bright, so I had to set it lower..

erm, not sure what else to say here.. since i'm not a LCD freak.. but overall satisfied with the monitor.  thumbup.gif
Rm655 (though you can get it at a better deal elsewhere), TN panel, 23" .. well worth it. but if ask me to compare with other LCD.. then I dunno la..

and i guess it's better to just view some of the pics i've taken. lol, sorry some images are blur (not enough light)..

Thanks for sharing. From the angle you shot I can see that it has a nice viewing angle. I also notice your plant is struggling to survive inside the room there. tongue.gif

forgot to add.. in that pic, the setting was set to Text preset. which is not as bright as Standard, Graphics or Film.. and Colour temp - warm.

The grey colour, somehow kinda looks weird to me. looks like those old windows 98 GUI.. gives me that feeling.. haha..
yea, the viewing angle is actually not bad. differs a lot only when viewed from top.. and about the plant.. they're fakes. tongue.gif lazy wanna maintain. hehehe brows.gif

Seriously, is it that bright in the preset mode? Guess 40,000:1 DCR play a part here.

From a review I saw on YouTube, the backlight is bleeding from the lower part of the screen. You might need to check with it. How about sound output when you connect it via HDMI? Is the audio jack port works well?

You'll need to fork out additional money to buy an adjustable stand. Use book to stack it if it's too low.

Didn't the audio jack worked? I wonder will there be any sound via PS3 HDMI input.

now most monitors are moving to 16:9.. cheaper to make. like the dell 24" for example.
*
Most people prefer 16:9 aspect ratio for HD movie and console (PS3/XBox 360). With it, you won't see any black bars, provided that the movie is in its 1080p resolution (1920x1080).

for a TN panel monitor, with this price.. nope.. haha..

the only thing i'm not very satisfied with is the colours (but well, i wanted something moer than what a TN panel can give.. so not about this monitor being not good).. and the non-adjustable height.. (and this, most monitors at this range are the same)

Color? Would you mind compare it with your 5920G? Which one is better?

hmm its my friend 1st time to own a full hd lcd, s2409w.
has no prob except frm gt5 which suffers from sound lag when the car crashes D:
*
How did he output the sound? I wonder. hmm.gif He's using HDMI-HDMI port, yes? If so, how did he output the sound to external sound system? S2409W doesn't have internal speaker right? Then why is the audio lag issue occur?

hey user of h233h ? i wanna ask about the audio port , what does the audio port of the acer h233h for ? so far i've been researching and i didnt get any information ? okay lets say i have a speaker i i put the green audio cable to the monitor right . will the sound be avaiable ? cause i m planning to get this monitor for ps3 as well . so i m afraid if theres no sound coming out from the ps3
*
If you read through previous post you'll know that you can output the sound from PS3 via AV cable to your sound system. There is another alternative though. As you may know, HDMI DO carries both video and audio signal while DVI only carries audio signal. You can buy a DVI-HDMI cable, connect it from PS3 to the H233H, then using the composite cable (Red/White) and connect it with your sound system. PS3 will disable the sound output via HDMI and carry them out via composite cable by default (I think?). Else just go to the main menu and configure it.

Added on May 3, 2009, 12:13 pmBTW nobody is using BenQ G2411HD? The price is much expensive than ViewSonic VX2433WM, H233H and even S2409W. Is it better?

I'm one of those who had been told that higher price often means higher quality. Wonder is this statement hold true when it comes to LCD monitor.

It's either input or output purpose, which I don't know. Need confirmation from H233H user.

I suggest you to spent more time researching more info about them. BTW if you're considering VX2433WM, you might keep in mind that it couldn't remember the last input source selected. To access the main menu (which apparently is the only way to switch to different input source), you'll need to connect it via any VGA cable.

BTW H233H is 23", 50cm measured in horizontal compared to 23.6" (52cm) and 24" (53cm). I think 2 or 3 cm won't be noticeable.

Here's a good review I found for H233H bmid. It seems that the cons is poor grayscale performance, which I didn't quite understand well.
