erm i not too sure, need your advice,
i had my application assessed by the engineers australia and am currently doing my masters course with the total duration of 1.5 years, i am aware that u need to study for at least 2 years in australia in order to apply for a pr?

Yes, unless you have a relative who can sponsor you, which will bring down the pass mark for the points test to 100.

yeap i do have, my sister is willing to sponsor, btw as for ielts , what would be the passing mark for all four category which include speaking, writing, listening and reading?

EngAus requires 7 of you. BUT, if you're currently doing your course and are not graduating now, remember that the new system comes into force on May 1st 2011 iirc. Now you need to score 8 in IELTS to get the amount of points for the old 7.

Either way you MUST have 2 years of study to apply for an 885/886 regardless of points. It is a requirement.

hmm thanks for the prompt reply, really appreciate it...
seems that the new system's requirement of getting a pr is much tighter and harder.
One more question, If the course that i am doing is part of the occupation's critical list and i have also met the 2 years requirement of studying, will there be any offset to the points that i have to reach to get a pr? Will the passing mark for ielts be the same (at least 7) for Engineer's Australia?
