QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 19 2010, 10:23 AM) thanks. There's a problem with that. If you finish your course earlier and have to go back due to a lack of a visa, then it'll be a problem. Yes, she can add you, but the time spent apart might not count towards the relationship minimum.so if lets say my partner applying for PR on next few months, then can we go for de facto "visa" at the same time? Also i don't think you'll get a Bridging Visa, only her. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 19 2010, 11:40 AM) we finish the course at the same time and same goes to our visa... You may be able to get secondary applicant status quickly and be legal if you know how to rush things and get everything ready ASAP. but damn,i can't get bridging visa after she added me?that means no matter what i also need to back malaysia since the process will gonna take longer time... eg; You've already gotten a valid IELTS, Background checks and so forth. QUOTE financial aspects of the relationship: such as joint ownership of your house or joint names on a lease, correspondence addressed to both of you at the same address, details of financial commitments including bank statements, and any joint liabilities the nature of the household: any joint responsibility for the care and support of children, your living arrangements including sharing responsibilities within the home social context: evidence that you and your partner are generally accepted as a couple socially such as joint invitations, evidence of common friends, assessments by your friends and family of your relationship, joint travel or joint participation in sporting, social or cultural activities your commitment: duration of your relationship including knowledge of each other, intention that your relationship will be long term through things such as the terms of your wills, and correspondence and telephone accounts to show that contact was maintained during any periods of separation. You'll also have to satisfy the above. Most couples i know don't really do so because most uni students live separately, have no joint liabilities, don't go to fancy dress parties as a couple, don't share lines and sure as hell don't have joint wills, thus they usually just apply separately. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 19 2010, 12:34 PM) oh ya,i(or second applicant) need to take IELTS too? No you can't. You have to get new medicals done. i've done my medical check up few months ago so i assume i can use back the results IELTS and the fulfillment of other criteria gives her a 5 point boost. QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 19 2010, 12:36 PM) but me and my partner satisfy all Sharing financial burdens means having joint accounts and bills. They're quite specific on the criteria. It must be in official writing.from staying together to sharing financial,etc... just haven't join the bank account Eg; If you want to prove you live together, you have to have rent receipts in joint names dating back 12 months for example. |

QUOTE(skyther @ Oct 22 2010, 08:41 AM) Eh I'm a taxpayer ok?! It hardly costs the university that much to deliver a unit anyway. Nooooooooo, i can't rip myself off anymore. Also i has ATO warning letter for my BAS. Fuuuuu.....Death and Taxes, Death and Taxes....Simply put the govt rips me off in more ways than one. Ok, plan B, claim as much as i can from medicare. Either way it isn't the cost of undergrad education that's the issue, most unis channel their funds from international and undergrad fees to postgrads and research. The amount of money required for a 4 person project lasting 3 years goes into the 1 million range most of the time, everything included. The undergrad population is hardly the traditional boost they require for their glamour, it's the paper and publications produced. In terms of politics, I'm against the libs, the greens, family first and everyone that impinges on my right to go fishing and hunting and play 18+ games, economically i am liberal (not in the LNP sense), socially I lean labor. I can't vote, but i will donate to parties i think are doing a good job on my behalf. The libs/nationals have held this place for 13 years and they still didn't fix any of the problems that everyday people face. Laters guys. I'm going out to mail some docs to the lawyers and get myself 1000 rounds of 9mm ammo. |

QUOTE(eyhc89 @ Nov 11 2010, 06:41 PM) Hello people, I went to the one in London, just line up with everything you need (passport pics, passport, IC and so forth), should be the same.Just want to ask a question regarding the PR application. To do the Malaysian police clearance check, has anybody of you gone to Canberra to get it done? Do you need an appointment beforehand? I know what documents to bring and such, I just don't know whether any appointment is necessary. And sorry, if I have just asked one no-brainer question. |

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Nov 11 2010, 08:31 PM) guys, Food goes around 300 dollars a month if you're an average eater (includes the occasional makan luar at Maccas). If i go over that limit i generally stop eating lol.Lets says If i were to study at Australia. what is the average food expenses for 1 month ? how about accommodation? Accommodation can vary depending on which uni you go to, also you have to set a level of comfort you wish. I have 1 room and 1 bathroom to myself and my housemate has the same. I pay 540 dollars of rent a month. Electricity and Gas come up to about 50 a month. Internet is about 40 bucks. Also remember any healthcare and house expenses. OSHC is a crock of shit. Medicare is far better. This post has been edited by empire23: Nov 11 2010, 09:21 PM |

New immi requirements for residency. English standards tightened up to Band 8 overall. No extra points for a Masters Degree. Band 6 awarded 0 points, Band 7 is given 10 points.
Ouch for the newcomers. |

QUOTE(Retrohits8198 @ Dec 23 2010, 10:50 PM) yeap i do have, my sister is willing to sponsor, btw as for ielts , what would be the passing mark for all four category which include speaking, writing, listening and reading? EngAus requires 7 of you. BUT, if you're currently doing your course and are not graduating now, remember that the new system comes into force on May 1st 2011 iirc. Now you need to score 8 in IELTS to get the amount of points for the old 7.Either way you MUST have 2 years of study to apply for an 885/886 regardless of points. It is a requirement.
