Hi, my bro-in-law wants to pass a wii to me from australia. However, i think they are a PAL country. Does this matter in Malaysia as i am not sure if the games here are PAL or NTSC based?

If you don't plan to mod your Wii, get NTSC version for easier access to the games locally. If you do want to mod your Wii, either one is fine

You're correct about Australia using PAL.
The official region assigned to Malaysia is NTSC/UC . Most of the games sold here is NTSC/UC, with a few NTSC/J imports. PAL games is very rare, if any at all. If you do get a PAL console, your only choice/source would be using internet. There are a few other PAL users here tho, most buy their Wii while studying or working in UK or Aus before coming back. You can ask them for advice. |
