Not necessary, if you consider Hi-Streamer as the inspiration for the CCA movie.

The art style is growing on me, despite the fact that the anime Barnage looks nothing like Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's original art. Barnage in the 2nd picture actually has the retro 80s anime character look in particularly the curly hair and facial features. Nevertheless, Barnage is supposed to have straighter hair instead of the curlier one he's having now.

And the inclusion of the Evolve designer might be a hint that the mechas may be shown in 3D CGI, not unlike that of Macross Frontier... I hope it doesn't happen though, make it retro all the way !!

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

That's the official name for the novel, I don't see any reason for them to change it... unless there is a change in the storyline like how Hi-Streamer differed from CCA and also Belthorchika's Children.

Not sure. The very first rumours hinted of a movie (unstated whether it's a 2 hour one or a trilogy like Zeta), but now they just say Unicorn is going to be "animated". No one knows for now.

50 would be too long and the inevitable filler episodes will most likely be present.

25 sounds pretty ok, although I wouldn't mind if it's a short OVA of 12 episodes like 08MST or 0083.

I actually feel that GX is somehow overrated on forums. It probably should have deserved more attention, but too many people have been giving it overwhelming praises.

The pacing of GX is horrendous especially during mid-season where monster-of-the-week episodes added nothing to the storyline. They were forced to rush through the ending in the last few episodes, and the shortened length only worsened it. The characters wasn't as annoying as GW's self-righteous ones, but I don't think anyone was memorable or charismatic enough. The only one which I felt had some depth to it was Witz, and that was because he had an entire (filler) episode dedicated to his background. And after that episode, we started to see some growth in him instead of just being a badass mercenary.

GX isn't bad, and it's quite enjoyable at times; but it certainly does have its flaws.

^ now that is one ugly mask... suits the ugly gale strike too.
