Honestly i own both and i dunno are u guessing but i tested it side by side Ipod + X3i Accurate bass and clarity. 5800 XM lack of bass and not very sharp like cheap DVD This just my opinion I compare not stock earphones i tested with SHURE and Crossroad X3i tested on tube then on ipod. when test using crappy/cheap headset... it's comparable between those 2.. sometimes i feel like tube is better though.
