Can I suggest you to do a technician course? CAT - Certified Accounting Technician.

Upon completion, you can begin working with your qualification, and even continue with ACCA while working part time

Not sure

But CAT, it's easy if you pay attention in class, if money is not a problem, I suggest you go to go Sunway University College, not that expensive though.

Well, did you just finished SPM? If so, wait for the result to come out, and consider the scholarship options

lcci is much harder than cat. after u taking lcci.. i scare u really regret and eventually surrender lo. cat is a lower stage of diploma which is also equivalent to lcci. u should think about it. i got see many friend studying lcci but end up with given up the study. and those who study cat. they able to pass and can go further to acca stage. why! because cat is a foundation for student with or without acc knowlege to have a basic start then only gradually enter to harder stage. even though i not a cat student and was a lcci student before. i still advise ppl to take cat if u want to be a accountant later on.

U can study in Eu Institute . I think this is the best place for LCCI .It is very famous for LCCI and it is located in PJ. There are many other institutes that u can find at Petaling street. Read chinese newspaper. There are a lot of advertisements.

The link to EU Institute is http://superpages.com.my/superhome/schools...tute-21970.html

To study lcci, u need not go to college, maybe there waste more money.

instead, u can go to any commercial school(Sekolah Perdagangan in bahasa Malaysia) around your housing area.
Commercial School will have lcci course.

-->for me, after spm, i took those course in commercial school at my hometown :

1)City and Guilds pitman Level 1
2)City and Guilds pitman Level 2
3)LCCI certain papers (accounting part)[most important paper]

to make sure that i got full use of time during my holiday after spm and meanwhile waiting for my result of applying scholarships and result of application to some study institutions.

I apply for TARC too for accountancy CAT-->acca. but din accept.

------
if want to take diploma on lcci can pursue to acca by only need to take only one paper in cat.

good luck ya!

-------

Any study place in kl area :
according to my friend, she got accounting class in petaling street there...but i duno is where la...
becoz im not kl area ppl, study at selangor also din go to petaling street before...hehe

hi there,
I'll suggest you go to SeGi college. But i'll advised you to check who will be lecturing the subjects for LCCI. You know you can choose your lecturer for each subject. I'll also advised you to do your LCCI before doing your ACCA as LCCI would be your basic before you go to ACCA. Try doing more research on the subject & the lecturer if u think the lecturer is not that good as you think go some where else for that subject. Let me know how it works. & yea CIMA is still new... some might say they are doing good & its better then LCCI but at the end its what you want so think carefully before you make any decision flex.gif

Taking CAT is more beneficial because CAT is structured exactly like ACCA but it is at the fundamental levels.

Upon completion of CAT, you gain exemption from the first 3 papers of ACCA

If money is an issue and you want quality education, study at Kasturi , if money is not an issue, go for SUnwayU

CAT should provide a better route to getting your ACCA professional qualification.

Why don't you consider taking a degree course in accounting before taking up ACCA, with the degree you can get a stronger foundation and are open to many more career opportunities. I still see employers favouring those with a degree when it comes to recruitment. ACCA can then be taken while studying, most likely with quite a number of paper exemptions.

difference of LCCI and CAT:

CAT : Must pass ALL 9 papers to get the full CAT CERTIFICATE
LCCI: Pass ONLY 3 papers for a DIPLOMA. Get a diploma first.

CAT : Exempted from 3 papers of Level 1-ACCA
LCCI: Must pass the 3 papers of Level 1-ACCA

CAT : Annual subscription fee = £58 (subject to changes, please re-confirm with CAT)
LCCI: NO subscription fee

CAT : Exam fee = £ 37 to 42 per subject (subject to changes, please re-confirm with CAT)
LCCI: Exam fee = RM 180 per subject (For Level 3 as per 2011)
