There are many software u can use.U can test it using Prime or memetest86.For better understanding,u can refer to the overclockers thread.

Get a proper cooling solution.By the way,u use stock cooling or third party cooling?

Zalman is ok.But from 1.86GHz to 2.8Ghz,u might need a water base cooling..
