Did anybody realize that international sites are slow nowadays? I want to download some open source software but the hosting server is not in Malaysia. The download speed so slow. Wikipedia also slow. Streamyx should be Streamux.

I pay them expensive bill every month but they give me peanut services.

No. I didn't traveling for two years already. I'm a university student in Kuching, Sarawak. I always do research online for my school project. I have Streamyx 1 mbps package. Connection to international sites getting slow nowadays, especially the U.S. sites. Before, my browser will finish loading a Wikipedia article website at least within 10 seconds. But nowadays, Wikipedia article website need at least 5 minutes to load. Sometimes it takes longer than 15 minutes. Streamyx not only streamux but also slowmyx and also slowmux.

I tried to download the setup file for Python, an open source programming language, from http://www.python.org, the download speed always 0.x to 3.xx kb/s and the connection always lost. I really don't know what TMNUT is doing for its SLOWMUX.

I pay them RM xxx (Streamyx + service charges) every month but what I get is the peanut services from them.

Wikipedia never finish loading.

When I try to access some motherboard manufacturer sites, such as Asus Malaysia site at http://my.asus.com, and Gigabyte global site at http://www.gigabyte.com or its Malaysia site http://www.giga-byte.com.my , the sites load super slow.

I'm from Sarawak and I just called TM at 100. I can heard the announcement about internet problem in Sabah and Sarawak. SHIT!!!!! When are they going to let us fully enjoy their services? Why they can't just work harder to become '5 stars internet services'?

Some people said "You pay peanuts you get peanuts". For TM, it is "you pay expensive bills you get peanuts services". I pay their expensive bills every month. Why they still give me their peanuts services?

That server is my benchmark. Yesterdays ping was at the range of 120 and DL at 300-400...now its back to normal.

Testing your speed with Malaysia server is useless. You should try to test the servers which is very far away from Malaysia.

I tried to test both Singapore and London server on speedtest.net. 8xx-9xx kb/s download speed on Singapore server. But, LONDON SERVER only 36 kb/s download speed.

Im not testing my speed. Im just comparing it fro normal to not normal circumstances. If connection to malaysia server suffers high latency, of course the same would be the case if u go international.
*
Erm... Actually, I just want to say that we are having problems connecting to international links although local connections were not affected.

Added on March 10, 2009, 12:06 amDownloading files from sourceforge.net slow also.

so which is exactly "your" area? LMAO...guess if i am from the far east called they would say the same shit.

I want to thank you for your reply. Because of your reply, I realise that I never told them where my area is. May be I'm stupid. If you send email to someone, your ip address will be recorded in emaill message's header. If they track my IP address, then I understand how they know my area. If not, I wanna know how they know my area.
