Pro-tip : Dont start with Vanguard if you wanna stroll through the game.
Even devs recommend not to.
*
What it means? Does it mean that vanguard is imbalanced or too easy to play with?

heard many complains in official forum that this game has dumb down rpg elements, shallow skill specialization and no keybindings for journal, maps, codex, etc.

Also i heard you automatically hide behind cover without need to press any key when near barrier (box) and sometimes you end up facing in front of the enemy instead.

Seems to me the game has been cater more as a console and much of a port to PC.

Is this true? If so i'm lucky i haven't bought the game yet.

This was from the first game as well.

From all the early previews, it was very obvious that the game would be more action oriented than the first... Which is good because it was a bit here and there. I welcome this change as Mass Effect's combat-esque RPG elements weren't anything to shout home about
*
I did not experienced that in ME1 at all.. How much of the change in the skills specialization in ME2 now? Do we have lesser skills? We still need to pump points in the skill right?

I heard you cant press F1/F2/F3 to change weapon but only through mouse wheel? Can this be changed in an ini file?

No way to hide your helmet while in conversation like in Dragon Age:

QUOTE
Christina Norman wrote...

I can understand the desire to run around in collector armor with the 'helmet' off but that isn't the way they were designed in terms of appearance or in terms of art assets. To state it simply the armor is a single piece.

We do have a system for armor segments, and you can use that to construct a custom look for Shepard, but armor has to be designed artistically and otherwise for this system. To put it another way - the collector armor wouldn't look like the collector armor if we built it using the segmented armor system. We're able to get the awesome look because it's a single armor piece. This is not a bug, so it can't be "patched" to change the behavior.

This kind of make me sad.. We are in 2010 and seems to me the engine they are using is what engine?! Whole armor as in 1 piece and no way to change it sweat.gif

Guess i'll should enjoy it for the story if i plan on buying the game and having less expectation on the game.

Actually that just sounds like you can't hide the helmet while using the Collector armour, not the others.
*
Only just the CE armor? Hmm.. guess maybe they don't have enough time and the CE armor was probably a last minute decision. If so, i think i can live with that.

Someone proposed, you can change your outfit when not in battle. I'm probabaly going to do.

Anyone find that shepard is much heavier and running slower by default? I do know you can press W+Space but that doesn't make sense in maneuvering..

Also, i find that this third person view, Shepard actually takes much of the screen space. Am i feeling that in ME1 everything is much smoother?

I see pixelated shadows in my Mass Effect 2.
Thank god for tweaks.

To enable Trilinear Anisotropic in ME2 (ME2 uses Bilinear Anisotropic):

Go to Bioware folder:
\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\BIOGame\Config

Open up GamerSettings.ini

Add this above "MaxAnisotropy" line:
Trilinear = True

For "fixing" pixelated shadows, add this: (DON'T USE 512 on MinShadowResoluton, it will make your game look crap)
MinShadowResolution=64
MaxShadowResolution=2048

Other stuff that works in ME2 setting:

DepthofField = True/False (enable or disable DoF, use it if you think ME2 is too dark, or playing on laptop)

Now I demand High Res Textures.

EDIT: King of page 44. And also I didn't have a problem registering my game on SocialNet, and it seems that redeeming has a "cooldown" before accepting another code.
*
I don't see MaxAnisotropy line in the gamersettings.ini file..

After you complete the IFF mission, you'll get the Suicide Mission shortly after. Once you do the Suicide Mission, the game's over.

Note, how you do in the Suicide Mission is largely dependent on your team, loyalties and also the upgrades for your ship.

hmm that the game is superbly short. it's only lengthy if do all the npc quests.
