QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Jan 14 2010, 09:44 AM) I'll be getting ME through retail since I feel sorry for TSB. But I liked that T-shirt... I wear it at least once a fortnight. Besides, retail for standard edition is far cheaper than on steam and retail for CE is at least the same price as steam but with arguably more "value". I hope this thread does not degenerate into a thread about free t-shirts and posters like the DA:O one. Too bad this one doesn't have it though |

QUOTE(TimKen @ Jan 22 2010, 09:38 AM) lol...how come he can sell so cheap compare to tsb ?? TSB are the official distributors of the game and thus when they sell it through their one official store, they HAVE to use the RRP. 3rd party retailers can do whatever they want since when they purchase from TSB, they purchase it at dealer prices which means they can slash their prices however much they want (Which just means it eats into their profit margins)i thought tsb was the sole distributor for EA games in m'sia and Battlefield bad company 2 CE rm125...that's freaking cheap quite tempting = = |

QUOTE(Deimos Tel`Arin @ Jan 22 2010, 04:32 PM) Nah, superior voice acting was the reason (And based on the trailers of ME2, I'd say that probably won't change)Added on January 22, 2010, 4:36 pmI mean, c'mon: This post has been edited by H@H@: Jan 22 2010, 04:36 PM |

I'm not going anywhere near that link, but I'd just like to state that the ppl who post at gamefaqs aren't exactly the best judges of games (Add to the fact that they're playing an "advance" copy further enforces that).

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jan 24 2010, 07:01 PM) Hopefully you could post some comments right away once you got it. Whoa, watch the kneejerk. I enjoyed ME1 a lot.Just hope that ME2 isnt that dumbed down. It's not about adapting into a game. It's a sequel to a game and things shouldnt change so much.It seems like inventory is completely removed. It's true that it will be difficult to arm all 10 team mates and ME1's inventory spring cleaning isnt that fun, but the small bit of RPG in ME1 is still part of the fun and experience of the game. The thing that piss me off the most is still the absence of Charm and Intimidate, which seems like Paragon and Renegade is no longer in ME2.Hopefully they learnt from DA to scramble the conversation choices to encourage replayibility and add some unpredictable conversation in the game. Im actually quite glad that MAKO is gone, though. It suxs, especially that thing loves to turn turtle once in a while. [ The greatest strength of ME wasn't its RPG aspects (Which were pitifully shallow), but the whole "space opera" feeling it manages to conjure. If they nail THAT, they could make the combat solely a mako driving simulator and I'd be happy. Again, I've not read of these "reviews" by pirates, but I'm guessing the inventory system is no more but you still pickup loot nonetheless? No biggie really, since unlike other RPGs, there's no reason to horde various items or weapons/armour combos since you only ever need the best at any given moment and just omnigel the rest. The combat is simplified to the point where you won't have to worry about having the right armour to counter a specific attack or having the best weapon with the right kind of elemental attack. There is also neither a crafting system nor secondary items to use, so it doesn't look like that bad of a change. Remember ME was supposed to be an action game FIRST, then RPG. But all this played second fiddle to the setting and story which were absolutely fantastic and one that I'm hopeful they'll be able to emulate. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jan 25 2010, 02:07 AM) The complete removal of the RPG system isnt really accpetable.ME was never just an action game to me,unlike GoW.It's always an action game with a bit of RPG.It's just too simplified now. That hardly constitutes a "complete removal of the RPG system". Its still got character levels, customizable builds, item pickups/drops, and most importantly dialogue options in a non-linear story. Hardly "complete".ME2 isnt exactly what i wanted now. Also, please direct your wrath to those who played pirated copies and post spoilers. My wrath? Are you STILL that paranoid? Added on January 25, 2010, 7:31 am QUOTE(choyster @ Jan 25 2010, 01:22 AM) WOW I CANT f***IN BELIEVE THAT A SMALL MERC GROUP IN MASS EFFECT 1 COULD PLAY SUCH A HUGE ROLE IN MASS EFFECT 2 , I'M TALKING ABOUT CEBERUS BTW AND I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY A SIDEQUEST IN MASS EFFECT 1, THEY WAS WEAK IN MASS EFFECT 1 TOO , WTF HOW DID THEY BECOME SUCH A HUGE ORGANIZATION? CAPS LOCK FOR CRUISE CONTROL. Actually, despite the quality of the those sidequests, they were generally perceived to be quite a huge organization. This post has been edited by H@H@: Jan 25 2010, 07:31 AM |

Oh yeah, I finally got around to replaying ME1 again yesterday (Since my Internet was down for the whole week before) and... man I realize how much I like the character interactions more than DA... Ok, yeah I already didn't really fancy it beforehand, but its nice to know that my nostalgia was valid
PS. Also, every attempt at making my Shepard came out looking like crap for some reason. This post has been edited by H@H@: Jan 25 2010, 10:24 AM |

QUOTE(+3kk! @ Jan 25 2010, 11:44 AM) i played as a soldier and now as a vanguard in ME1, i have to say tho apart from the soldier the other classes were meh. the combat mechanics makes it almost pointless to use skills, and just shoot the daylights out of everyone. I would say otherwise. The soldier abilities bored me to tears since only a few were useful (Rocket launcher!). I did however enjoy playing Biotics the most. Its arguable which abilities were more powerful than others since if you put points in certain abilities, they certainly become insanely powerful (Yes, even the supposedly weaker Tech abilities). But it came to a point where I became bored of being Biotic because it was pretty damned easy after awhile. So, its pretty much an apples to oranges scenario here. I liked the soldier, but since the shooty bang aspect of ME was its weakest, I didn't revel too much with it. More fun to send enemies flying or let them burn to death from their equipment failing on them. |

QUOTE(choyster @ Jan 25 2010, 12:03 PM) yeah but they were no threat at all , most of the stuff they did on ME1 was experiments and shit like that , did not think the organization was so advance Just because they were no threat DURING the course of the game, doesn't mean they were no big threat at all. They killed off an admiral for crying out loud... That means they're kinda big. Also, they were very sneaky sneaky (Which was why the admiral was paranoid as hell), so it makes sense that nobody knew much about them then. They were like the Illuminati, except they were criminals purely. |

Also did anyone ever beat the game in Insane? The frigging Krogan's were practically unkillable in that mode. I think I made it all the way to the final area and then just gave up.

QUOTE(+3kk! @ Jan 25 2010, 12:09 PM) to me its not which is powerful than the other, like its very very cool to watch biotic skills (lift was really cool, if only they can pair it with Beethoven lol) but at the end of the day you still return to shooting the daylights out of your enemies. thus i kinda believe that the other classes can be expanded upon and specialized instead of 'being a fighter that can cast paralyze" (but mind you ive not played a pure bio or tech char). Well I played the game as a Soldier first, so by the time I was done, I had some weapon skills for my next playthrough with the Engineer and Adept that I played later. The biotics do pretty well on their own (Especially at higher levels when their cooldowns are insanely fast) but Tech abilities tend to complement the shooting bits quite well. |

QUOTE(Aggroboy @ Jan 25 2010, 12:19 PM) Sentinel class makes Krogans piece of cake on any difficulty level, you just chain-control them. I was an Adept and I had Tali and I STILL couldn't contain them. Too much frigging HP (Plus, if they ever got that charge ability to kick in, its a one hit KO on myself or anyone in my group) and there was one point where they sent TWO of them. And it helps to bring Wrex along to resist all that biotic sht. This saddens me because I actually enjoyed playing it in Insane except for this ridiculous difficulty spike. |
