QUOTE(Archaven @ Mar 1 2010, 04:05 PM)
hmm that the game is superbly short. it's only lengthy if do all the npc quests.
*
I think its important to remember that the focus of the game IS the NPC quests. Considering that ALL the NPC quests (Recruitment and loyalty) are main quests (Each lasting a healthy 30 minutes to complete at least), its not right to lump them in the pile of "side quests".

QUOTE(kianweic @ Mar 1 2010, 04:11 PM)
Can't seem to talk to Zaeed in the ship.

He usually just give one liners when you activate him or his stuff on the tables.
*
One liners? I got him to say loads when he talks about his gear. He wasn't a proper NPC, thus doesn't have the same dialogue trees as the other characters, but he's certainly interesting to talk to.

The point I'm making is, Wrex is a one of a kind character and Grunt was never meant to replace him (They aren't even the same class). Same as how Samara isn't supposed to replace Liara and Jacob/Miranda doesn't replace Kaidan/Ashley.

What is everyone's opinion on the Geth?

They're not that tough really... Plus their sentience is based on their numbers. Individually they're quite rubbish.

The collectors are too powerful.

It seems like they existed prior to ME2, ie ME1.

How come it wasn't an issue in ME1?
*
You only travelled around Citadel territory in ME1. In ME2, you're doing stuff around the Terminus Systems (Where the Collector's operate)

No.2 is from Mass Effect Ascension. It's a good book and it is referenced in ME2 (Captain Isin'Mal vas Idenna, the scout ship Cyniad, etc.).
*
Well, its also mentioned just after you see the first footage of the Collectors.

IFF and Finale.

How long for both of them?

2-3 hours or less?
*
IFF takes perhaps less than an hour...
Suicide Mission may take an hour or more...
Finale after that is just maybe 30 minutes... mostly cutscenese and dialogue.

Even if the council mampus, the human replacements aren't exactly helpful laugh.gif

I imagine ME3 storyline will be absurd, bajillions of reaper ships stopped by a squad of three...
*
Nah, technology would've advanced since ME2 so much that humanity will have the capability to take on the Reapers!

They'll have a squad of four instead.

One man... makes all the difference

QUOTE(kianweic @ Mar 8 2010, 11:45 AM)
Considering that it takes so many ships to destroy one big reaper ship in ME1.

However, in ME2 it only take two cool laser cannons to blow up the collector's one.

Reaper sure are slacking these days.
*
Well the Collector ship was really meant to be stealthy and all sneaky-like (So it can zip about and kidnap peoples)... Also, it took multiple beatings prior to that, so it wasn't exactly in tip top condition.

And its probably only 1/2 the size of Sovereign (Based on my very crude guesstimation of size).

And perhaps with fewer awesome beam cannons than that cuttlefish space ship.

Given that Reaper existed since forever, I am pretty sure they have more enough sotong space ships to consume and destroy the known or unknown universe in Mass Effect.

What's special with the collector's assault rifle?
*
Its like the first assault rifle except with higher damage and ammo per clip. Its pretty accurate too.

Finished my Insane playthrough with my Infiltrator over the weekend. The game got pretty easy after a certain point (Since headshots kill just about anything anyway). Even the YMIR mechs were just a minor nuisance (Or probably because I went through the missions which had them earlier, rather than later).

The only real problem I had was with the husks... But even then, just bring the Firestorm or Particle Beam and they're not much of an issue anymore (Though they were insanely annoying during the suicide mission since you don't have space to maneuver.

So, doing a third run with my evil SHEpard from ME1 as a Vanguard in Hardcore. Damn its fun.

you can take out the husk easily by using the arc projector. once they're armor are gone just use heavy throw or singularity to kill them (for adept)
*
As stated, I was using an Infiltrator, and my heavy weapon that I brought was the Cain (Because the Arc Projector would've been mostly useless in the final level against the boss). Even then, the Firestorm works best at taking out husks.

Yeah i know but i was really hoping bioware would changed their mind and giving out free
*
Because clearly, an armour, new heavy weapon and an upcoming mission pack (With FOUR missions) is not enough?

I'm not a real big fan of DLC, but Bioware seem to have done alright with this one. Hoping they would change their mind after announcing that it would be charged does seem a bit much.

How do you scan for missions in ME2?

I know how to scan for minerals in ME2.
*
When you orbit a planet that has a mission, EDI will tell you that an Anomaly was detected (Its also shown in your scanner report on the right).

When scanning, just follow the white line on your scanner and it will point you to the anomaly (Which is a mission).

Basically, you know some of the Loyalty/Recruitment missions that require you to scan the planet first before starting? (Like Zaeed, Jack's and Jacob's) Its pretty much the same thing.

So... Nobody's played this yet? Or at least have the desire to talk about it here.

Anyway, just finished it. The Firewalker controls very similar to the Manta from the UT games and as such is actually pretty fun to drive around.

Missions were surprisingly decent. Oddly enough I hated the gunning bits as it was all auto-aim based so, was just about circle strafing the enemies in style. I much preferred the platforming sections which were at least satisfying to play even if it wasn't very hard.

Now, as a free DLC, its kinda ok since its just seems like "Hey, free vehicle and missions to use said vehicle!". They didn't even get Jennifer Hale back for the voice (Which they managed to do for Bring Down the Sky).

Anyway, here's to hoping that Kasumi is at least more fun than Zaeed for the price you're paying for her.

About 400 MB... The missions take a grand total of perhaps 60-90 minutes of play time.

Do tell what do you get with this. Is it more or less than Zaeed or something on par with the regular characters?
