the answer i can get is this:

turbo:
-daihatsu yrv
-charade gtti
-march superturbo
-starlet

NA:
-no idea

guys, can help me? it's some kinda assignment for me to test my knowledge of cars.lol. but pity me, i had little knowledge on acceleration of NA cars.. tongue.gif

Yup.. non modded... Coz I am driving one... But the way doing that pretty much not good I heard... I just tried it twice and then I stop doing that from there on, just want to see whether it is achievable. I learn it from a youtube video either..

Yours is the CVT version right? Same with me.. I like the CVT cruising feel actually.

You dont feel it coz of the linear power delivery from the CVT. The jerk in auto or manual make us human feel its faster. smile.gif

Sorry about spelling... Renesis... Mazda fans dun get mad...
Imperial you can try by holding brake while pressing accelerator...
CVT is actually superior is linear running... People tend to say it is slow because jerkless... Or they refer it as rubber band transmission... In straights and highway, CVT is good.
And yes, your wira is quite good with that.. Imagine auto Campro took 13 secs...

TS, u sure ur friend not playing a joke on you kah ? Simply ask stupid question when the fellow also won't know all the answer. Category so wide, NA, modded and turbo. That's every single 1.5L and below car on the planet.

modded almost any car also can break the 10 sec barrier. Just depend on the mods and the condition when doing the test.

Put in nos and see the car fly and engine explode. Still below 10 sec mah...

Thats why i said many times, the CVT is superior when you u know how to use it to keep it at max rpm all the way. Its advantage even more evidence when u go uphill like genting. It can even on par with some stock B16A engine. Why? Coz even 5-speed manual will struggling in between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear which is either too short or too long, while the CVT just max rpm and rev happy all the way up. smile.gif

simple, driver problem.

for auto boxes, you rev to your highest torque point in D, while holding the brake with your left foot.
once the flag or bra drops, release your left foot and modulate with the right.

not really, it depends on the drifter's style. most of them need the horsepower instead to maintain the sideways angle in a long corner.

Thats why i said many times, the CVT is superior when you u know how to use it to keep it at max rpm all the way. Its advantage even more evidence when u go uphill like genting. It can even on par with some stock B16A engine. Why? Coz even 5-speed manual will struggling in between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear which is either too short or too long, while the CVT just max rpm and rev happy all the way up. smile.gif

oh yes, i miss my old jazz a lot espcially in city/town driving. biggrin.gif
*
now that u mentioned it.. i really did 6~7k rpm shift in S mode and the rpm drop is insignificant.. guess there is where the power come from.. but funny, i always kacau ah beng city vtec and none can kacau me back.. driver problem maybe biggrin.gif

QUOTE(kev da man @ Feb 20 2009, 01:00 PM)
simple, driver problem.

for auto boxes, you rev to your highest torque point in D, while holding the brake with your left foot.
once the flag or bra drops, release your left foot and modulate with the right.
*
my highest torque point is at 5.5k rpm, which is before the mivec engaged..
i tested on 3k rpm and i feel the car engine or gearbox will kaput if i press more and yet locking the brake sweat.gif
u sure i can do that safely?

actually any 250cc 4 stroke inline 4 will do almost the same, around 5.8 seconds 0-100km/h...

BTW,the Smartuki with Busa engine really do the job since the car is quite lightweight & high rev nature of the engine itself..(around 11.5-12k rpm)
The standard busa can go from 0-100km/h in just 2.5 seconds....this is really drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif

emmm under 1.5l definitely the starlet is the best....don't set ur requirement 1.6l...it is for sure mazda 323 b6t, 4g91 or mivec as the winrar...honda a bit slow...sowy...

but if go untill 1.8l...car model bg8z is the king...the ratio weight over power has set mazda as rally champ.

Bro, that 1 was dynoed last Oct with FNF gang before engine rebuild

Intrigue:

4G92 SOHC 1600cc
Perdana Sei TB + ported intake manifold to match
fast road spec cams
K&N Air filter
Port & polished cylinder head
LCP
HotBits 4-2-1 header + 2" mendrel piping with bullet + Sflow muffler
Denso spark plugs + RAM 10mm plug cables

Those are the mods I did to get 115 WHP for my 1.6 SOHC. ECU still auto ECU (converted to manual)

Latest mods was fully engine rebuild with engine balancing, bearing selection and high compression pistons. After run in and dyno, then will do the ECU and ACP
