A friend of mine has contacts in Taiwan. Saw from the thread here that Taiwan's iPhones are also unlocked OTB.

Just wondering whether anyone has bought from there before and if so, are the units as good as those from NZ or Singapore vis-a-vis pricing and what not?

Err..is an iPhone. How diferent can it be la..Gezzz..

Perhaps you didn't unerstand what I said. I know it's officially unlocked, I stated that. I was asking about the price structure for units sold there and for advice from those who have actually bought from there.

im not so sure what do u mean by as good as, since the iphone is all the same, except of course they come frm another country....
as quality wise... its the same as the singapore and NZ.... the price on the other hand sir, may vary...

As menioned, it's the price structure I was enquiring about and 'what not' means whatever information those who have bought from Taiwan could give perhaps about the carrier, Chunghwa Telecoms.

Most of us bought from sellers here or thru friends from overseas that are coming back to M'sia. As you mentioned that your friend got contact in Taiwan, why don't ask the contact la? Go find out the price and do the $$$ conversion la..do some homework. Then you rate against the NZ or S'pore price. haiizz..

Sorry, let me expound. My friends are thinking of bringing iPhone in from Taiwan for sale. If the prices are relatively lower, they most probably will. Otherwise, there is no point and this is just a way to cross reference.

frankly speaking, with ever fluctuating exchange rates, it is pretty hard to determine (or even estimate) a profit margin.

unless the so-called sources/contacts can secure at a price in which apple is selling to them, i doubt one can profit a lot.

take the australian based iphones for example, prices before and after october 2008 have obviously changed a lot (even though the domination in AUD has been the same)

well that was last year price listing bro... but it is very expensive since its for the 8gb only... i bought the 16gb from OZ much2 cheaper than that...
