Don't put in too much of hope on Jaring yet. Over the past week I can feel that the speed has deteriorated to crawl especially during peak hours around 7-10pm at night.

It wasn't like this a few months ago, everything was smooth.

Now during peak hours you can't even enjoy good Youtube streaming without getting buffered every few seconds.

and to TS. Who says that Jaring does not throttle BT?

Your speed is limited to around 30kBps. Mine seems to be like that.

I told that before in another theard but seems nobody pay attention tongue.gif
Anyway your speed seems bad...Why don't you try to do a speedtest in Jaring's offical site and make a report to them hmm.gif

Getting speeds less than 512kbps / 384kbps is unacceptable.

Results speak better than "I think"

How can you get over 450ms of horrendous ping result just to Kuala Lumpur?

How do you explain that? Think carefully before tying yourself for the next 2 years.
*
So do you make a report to Jaring for this issue?

not sure if this is related but jaring datacenter has been having major DDOS attack for the pass 1 week. Even today, they have been attacked twice. This could be the reason their connection is bad now.

Where you get the news?

i'm just make a called to Jaring customer service to ask about the port availability for my area which is in Kelana Jaya, when they told me they do not have a port available, and I ask them what does it required to request to make it available .. 1st they told me .. it cannot be done because TM don't have the port available, and i still again, what should we do to make TM install the port or at least make them aware that there is a demand and can consider to install ports in the area (Kelana Jaya) .. And that stupid customer service just hang up the line !!!

What kind of service is that .. !! ??
*
Well, just few days ago Jaring and TM technician came to my house to do some checking cuz I report slow browsing...
Just before the TM technician came,I talk a while with Jaring's technician.
From what he say, all the equipment like bras,DSLAM is under TM's side and they just rent it from TM...

If I am not mistaken, the area with fiber is no way to have Jaring service according the post I read before.
It depends luck when you can get it since some of the forumers have requested for years but still no news smile.gif
Not sure what happen but I never encounter a cust care ppl hang up my phone nod.gif

Jaring's customer service quality is turning crap lately, i think they're now hiring the same rejects that only TM will hire. Anyway, if your area is Kelana Jaya then don't bother with Jaring, because the connection here is all handled by TM even if you subscribed Jaring. How do I know this? I live near Kelana Jaya and i'm using Jaring and Streamyx smile.gif. You'll get a Jaring IP, but your routing is all done by TM.
*
I though all area is under TM's routing?
How I know that I am under TM's routing?

do a traceroute to any website, try google.com. watch the next few servers after the bras, if it's jaring(they usually start with 61.xx.xx.xx) then you're in a jaring network, if it's TM(usually 58.xx.xx.xx) then you're connected to TM network.
*
O...Then I am on 61.x.x.x
But I do ask the tech that day and they said that is still TM's equipment and they have no control on it...
But that does not mean that is TM's network?I a bit confuse now~

To those who recently applied who got it approved even when you're on fiber cabinets, you're actually just on a rebranded Streamyx line.
This is because the IP-DSLAMs in KL is COMPLETELY owned by TM themselves so all your traffic will have to be routed entirely the same way as Streamyx users. It's basically a Streamyx line and because many of you complained, they have can't turn down your demand.
Got money also don't want?Who would be that foolish to turn down and face the noise?
*
I think I got the picture already but still got one question in my mind...
As you say all the DSLAMs are own by TM in KL here, but what is the different?
You mention that those who get 58.x.x.x are re branded Streamyx line which means
they do not route through Jaring's network?

I hope you can get what I write above...

IMO, 200ms to a local server is BAD.
It starts to increase during evening, reaching 200ms during night time.
*
Ya...I do encounter it before but my ping seems all normal but speed a bit slow~

if my house dont have phone line yet, then getting the RM69 package, how much more do i need to add for the phone line?
*
For the phone line rental you must refer to TM.
It should be RM30 per month if not mistaken smile.gif

One more thing, there no guarantee you can get Jaring after you have apply phone line.
Try to use your neighbor's phone number to check it out.Never trust online availability check's result, is not accurate.
Make them a call or write e-mail to them is the best way to find out.

I thought e-mailing them and calling them to ask for service availability still they use their website to check the availability?

Sorry for my Engrish, what I mean is aren't they also using the website to check?
*
No...They are using internal site to check.
So it is safer to let them to help you check smile.gif
