I have a CBU Toyota Wish from Japan. Bought brand new, not recond. Sound insulation sucks, had to add insulation on the doors before it got better. Sound insulation from the engine bay though is pretty good. Now 4 years later I'm thinking whether I should redo the insulation, it's starting to feel as if the outside sound is louder but it might just be my own perception...

I also have rattles in my dashboard, started when the car was 1+ years old. Very annoying but I didn't want to rip the dashboard out to get it fixed so I had to live with it.

Never had any experience with CKD Toyotas before btw so I can't compare.
