QUOTE(oec88 @ Feb 18 2009, 09:32 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Today I'm a 21 year old student who study in a college in Penang. In year 2006, my grandparents bought me a Toyota Vios for me to drive to school. On that time, I was really fresh and don't really have deep knowledge about cars as I mention in the topic, the built quality and interior noise insulation. At first I expect "Toyota" would be a nice car, fun to drive on the road. Since my family is a Toyota fans, my grandfather owned a Toyota Corolla AE101 and the quality is quite good, he bought it in year 1991 and the car is 1300cc. Now that car is already sold off and I cannot get into it to taste how good is the old Toyota quality compare to the new one. In year 2006, my grandparents bought me this Toyota Vios G spec cost RM76,900 without insurance. At first I get into the car, the feeling was nice because previously I was driving a Perodua Kenari and Perodua MyVi. I'm not saying that Perodua has bad quality, but then...Toyota gives me nightmare too.
Until now the car is already 2 years plus, there are few problems and curious questions I would like to seek for help, answer and advice. The problem I encounter everyday is the interior noise level is very high, the interior built quality is quite bad. Everyday I'm probably drive from Penang (island) -> Mainland (Butterworth) to fetch my girlfriend to school. So on this journey, I can really test out the noise and hopefully forumers here can help me out on how to solve them.
So I will list our my questions here, hopefully can get some good answer and advices, thanks.
Car built quality:- 1) In year 2006, Toyota Vios is a CKD, which means locally assembled in our own country, if I'm not mistaken, it's in Shah Alam Toyota plant. I would like to ask, just like other CKD model (e.g. Honda City, Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Suzuki Swift and etc) also has problems like mine especially the interior built quality which cause the rattling noise?
2) Toyota CBU model from Thailand (e.g Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla Altis) will have better built quality instead of "hard plastic"? 3) Anyone here owns a CBU Toyota car that fully imported from Japan? I would like to know the quality of the car that assembled from the motherland of Toyota. Other Japanese car brand such as Nissan, Honda and etc also can share their opinion here, I would like to hear more.[ i have a cbu made in japan wish though ... previous car was a rav4 from japan also .. what you wanna know ?
