toyota should have good noise insulation unless u r an ICE enthusiast then u shall need sound deadening.

it cost me RM300 for both satria neo doors only under Dynamat brand. makes the door heavy & high on FC.

u should clarify which part of the interior is noisy, perhaps a nut or screw needs tightening? to apply deadening on the whole car might cost RM1k.

better find the fault of the noise before u invest money on other ways which might or might not help. the sound might persist althought u applied the sound deadening u know.... better re consider.

My interior is fully stock, no woofer at the back boot. Any problems about noise, I will never and ever go back to Toyota service center to fix them. No matter how many time I complain, after fixed it and few days later, the noise come back for sure. I have consider the Dynamat brand, but it's expensive so I would take the product as I posted at above if it perform good insulation.

My dashboard has a kind of rattling noise, it comes out when my RPM meter read from 1,700 to 2,100, after 2,100 the noise gone. It also happen when my car was driving on uneven road. Finally I found out that it must be the meter noise. About how I found out is, I knock the center dashboard and the meter just like we use our hand to knock the door. The rattling noise come out same as I listed above, wondering how to fix them?

my friends vios had the same problem, rattling noise from the dash board. went to umw for nearly 7 times & finally they cabut the whole dashboard & settled the noise.

don't misunderstand sound deadening, it can stop sound from entering the car but can't stop rattling noises.

Hmm I thought sound proofing material that can reduce a little bit of vibration, so with just less vibration, the dashboard and "hard plastic" will also less vibrate and create less noise, or my concept is wrong? hmm.gif hmm.gif

Add: A stupid question
Is it possible that make our car as solid and comfort like Mercedes-Benz C Class? I'm not talking about the suspension comfort, it's "SOLID" and "SILENT" and "COMFORT".

YES..but the sound has to be from outside...if noise from the interior, no improvement...the meaning of soundproof is making ur car less noise and less vibration "WHEN U DRIVING"...like vibration from the engine/road...other than that like interior noises...remain the same.. biggrin.gif

How about install sponge in between interior plastic cover and the car body? Stick something between them to prevent them hitting each other.

I heard that there's a product call AutoFoam, which only available in KL. Wondering is it perform well for our car or not. I believe that the price is not cheap...

Alright, thanks for the lesson, I'll try to ask around through the car accessories shop. So now I've know more details about the interior, so for the built quality, anyone knows? CKD CBU and so on...

Oh yeah, hmm I would like to know more details on the quality. By the way, it's good that if you have a local CKD Toyota so that you can compare or have you tested your friend CKD Toyota if any of them have it?

I have a CBU Toyota Wish from Japan. Bought brand new, not recond. Sound insulation sucks, had to add insulation on the doors before it got better. Sound insulation from the engine bay though is pretty good. Now 4 years later I'm thinking whether I should redo the insulation, it's starting to feel as if the outside sound is louder but it might just be my own perception...

I also have rattles in my dashboard, started when the car was 1+ years old. Very annoying but I didn't want to rip the dashboard out to get it fixed so I had to live with it.

Never had any experience with CKD Toyotas before btw so I can't compare.

Looks like even CBU from Japan also has such problem, so you didn't claim for the warranty fix? So if almost every CBU cars from Japan like what you said, then in future I'll better work harder to go for continental cars. hmm.gif
