QUOTE(shinjite @ Mar 20 2009, 09:32 AM) It is confirmed at DiGi website, after max cap only throttle to EDGE speed, not after quota given. So the RM58 package can download 8GB++ of data, now its worth it Yup that seems to be the case.RM58 discover package free quota is 3GB, with extra charges can use up to max ~8GB before being throttled. RM108 explore package free quota is 10GB, with extra charges can use up to max 16GB before being throttled. RM188 extreme package quota of 20GB is also it's max cap. Overall, I like digi's strategy of maintaining enough bandwidth for everyone. I will be very please as long as I can get a stable and average speed broadband. Now if they'll only increase their 3G coverage fast enough... Added on March 20, 2009, 10:08 am QUOTE(suriah @ Mar 20 2009, 09:50 AM) Digi 3G just only in Klang Valley, they should expand their coverage more, see THIS It's also available in parts of Penang now. I'm waiting for it to come to my place.I think the coverage more worse than u mobile,...aisehhhh This post has been edited by tgrrr: Mar 20 2009, 10:08 AM |

What concluding? I'm just pleased with their business strategy over others, and I'll be even happier if they manage to remain stable.
IMO It looks like their business strategy is to provide stable connection to all user. That's why there's all these throttling, and the slow rollout. IMO again Digi has to stay smart and please their customers, due to the loopsided playing field. Of course I might be wrong, but then there's no binding contract. |

QUOTE(redrose9802 @ Jun 2 2009, 05:53 PM) KS98, No the max charge is RM138 (58 + 80) for Discover package.with regards to your post, so this means, if i take the RM58 package, the monthly bill if I download, say 100GB, will be RM58+RM138? my understanding was that (when i went to their website) max charge will be RM138 (RM58+RM80). I do agree with Ks98's idea that the quota system could perhaps be improved further i.e. having the option to customize own quota would be great. But however as of now I'm very happy with the quality of the service provided. |

I need the July bill, and being able to monitor the total usage on OCS. Other than that, very happy with the DiGi BB performance.
Oh yeah, I think many ppl still don't know about DiGi BB in Penang, or maybe they think its so so only. Strange... |

It's mentioned in the Star Online during the launch of DiGi BB that 3G data with voice package may be rollout later this year or next year.
And I think the term "video call" is misleading, as if all we'd be using it is for video calls only. |

Well I just paid my July's bill, sure takes a long time to arrive. And it seems they do not throttle after reaching maximum cap, at least not yet for me.
Not sure about the speed drop thing coz past few days I'm busy playing offline game instead of going online. |

QUOTE(preducer @ Aug 17 2009, 12:33 PM) shouldnt you guys be getting 3.6mbps (download @ 700kbps as per advertised) ? if it's capped at 1mbps then i guess its no point moving from streamyx 1mbps.. i dont have problem with my streamyx. DiGi stated the likely average speed for Discover and Explore plan is 700kbps so getting average @ 1Mbps is excellent already.streamyx 4mbps port is still unavailable at my place therefore im looking at digi as an alternative solution.. See here -->DiGi BB Comparison Past few days, performance has been improving though still has periods of slowdown on certain websites. And I see DiGi has increased their coverage area in Penang, now where I'm staying @ Relau is just within 3G area. That's probably why I've been getting 3G speed |

QUOTE(preducer @ Aug 17 2009, 01:25 PM) looking at the chart, it would be bad for digi to say theoretical speed > 3.6mbps and u can only get average 700kbps.. i would rather have my streamyx > 1mbps and im getting 1mbps. I'm an engineer and my understanding of "theoretical" means it's only possible if given an ideal situation. In other words, theoretically speed is impossible to achieve most of the time. There's nothing "bad" about it, it's the difference between theoretical calculations and reality. The "good" thing is, by stating the likely average speed i.e. what users are going to get, DiGi doesn't misled people into believing they are going to get 3.6mbps. That's the whole point of stating the average 700kbps speed. Added on August 17, 2009, 5:32 pm QUOTE(realman @ Aug 17 2009, 01:44 PM) that day i tried wit my fren modem....whic is vodafone...it show speed up 7.6mbps... but the modem that dg offer is Huawei one ..whic is 3.6mbps...does it make any difrence interm of speed that v gettin? I'm using a modem that shows 7.2mbps connection too but I don't think it matters as the actual bandwidth we really get to use is controlled by DiGi.QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 17 2009, 04:26 PM) same as my house's location. Keeps downgrading to EDGE, whcih is pointless because i'm paying for 3G speed, not turtle speed (pun intended). If your house has intermittent 3G signal, you can try locking your modem to 3G only. That helped me in the past when they're just launch DiGi BB in Penang and my place isn't officially covered yet. But if you are within 3G coverage area, you should contact DiGi for a resolution. This post has been edited by tgrrr: Aug 17 2009, 05:32 PM |

QUOTE(vista enthusiasist @ Aug 23 2009, 02:56 PM) I think not all phones can do this.Check if your phone has the option to manually select your network. Choose manual, and it will scan the area you're in and display all available networks for you to choose. The scanning will take a while... And it should show a list like DiGi (3G), Maxis (3G), etc... if DiGi (2G) only, then you're not in coverage or has very poor coverage. |
