Yup that seems to be the case.
RM58 discover package free quota is 3GB, with extra charges can use up to max ~8GB before being throttled.
RM108 explore package free quota is 10GB, with extra charges can use up to max 16GB before being throttled.
RM188 extreme package quota of 20GB is also it's max cap.

Overall, I like digi's strategy of maintaining enough bandwidth for everyone. I will be very please as long as I can get a stable and average speed broadband. Now if they'll only increase their 3G coverage fast enough...

What concluding? I'm just pleased with their business strategy over others, and I'll be even happier if they manage to remain stable.

IMO It looks like their business strategy is to provide stable connection to all user. That's why there's all these throttling, and the slow rollout. IMO again Digi has to stay smart and please their customers, due to the loopsided playing field.

Of course I might be wrong, but then there's no binding contract.

allrightall, besides this weekend @ Gurney, where else can I subscribe for digi broadband in Penang? I got training this whole weekend.

No the max charge is RM138 (58 + 80) for Discover package.

I do agree with Ks98's idea that the quota system could perhaps be improved further i.e. having the option to customize own quota would be great. But however as of now I'm very happy with the quality of the service provided.

It's also in Relau area already (in Penang) since more than 1 week ago, though also not yet stated in coverage.

I need the July bill, and being able to monitor the total usage on OCS. Other than that, very happy with the DiGi BB performance.

Oh yeah, I think many ppl still don't know about DiGi BB in Penang, or maybe they think its so so only. Strange...

It's mentioned in the Star Online during the launch of DiGi BB that 3G data with voice package may be rollout later this year or next year.

And I think the term "video call" is misleading, as if all we'd be using it is for video calls only.

Well I just paid my July's bill, sure takes a long time to arrive. And it seems they do not throttle after reaching maximum cap, at least not yet for me.

Not sure about the speed drop thing coz past few days I'm busy playing offline game instead of going online.

DiGi stated the likely average speed for Discover and Explore plan is 700kbps so getting average @ 1Mbps is excellent already.

Past few days, performance has been improving though still has periods of slowdown on certain websites.
And I see DiGi has increased their coverage area in Penang, now where I'm staying @ Relau is just within 3G area. That's probably why I've been getting 3G speed

I'm an engineer and my understanding of "theoretical" means it's only possible if given an ideal situation. In other words, theoretically speed is impossible to achieve most of the time. There's nothing "bad" about it, it's the difference between theoretical calculations and reality.

The "good" thing is, by stating the likely average speed i.e. what users are going to get, DiGi doesn't misled people into believing they are going to get 3.6mbps. That's the whole point of stating the average 700kbps speed.

If your house has intermittent 3G signal, you can try locking your modem to 3G only. That helped me in the past when they're just launch DiGi BB in Penang and my place isn't officially covered yet. But if you are within 3G coverage area, you should contact DiGi for a resolution.

I think not all phones can do this.
Check if your phone has the option to manually select your network. Choose manual, and it will scan the area you're in and display all available networks for you to choose. The scanning will take a while... And it should show a list like DiGi (3G), Maxis (3G), etc... if DiGi (2G) only, then you're not in coverage or has very poor coverage.
