7.2mbps will be phasing out soon.

By end of this year other mobile operators around Asia such as those in HK, Singapore and Australia will launch a (3x3) MIMO version of HSDPA increasing the current 7.2mbps to 3X which could harnest a top speed of 21.6mbps.

It will be called HSPA+ or E-HSDPA(Enhanced HSDPA) technology. This upgrade is equivalent to what EDGE is to GPRS as it is called 3.75G mobile. After this LTE will replace the 3rd generation as 4G.

Isn't it so much cheaper to co-locate your server in a datacentre which gives each port 1gbps or more?

I'm unable to connect to DiGi's 3G network in Pasir Putih, Ipoh.

There's 3G signal when you do a manual scan with the phone but when you force your phone to connect, it'll drop you out immediately.

Is the AP Node-B up yet?

Change your APN from 3gdgnet to diginet

Then you'll be able to connect.

i try using mdma and yes, i got same as you.... 1024DL and 384UL.... meaning they cap the speed....and my plan is discovery plan...dont know about others plan.... for maxis because they said their speed can go up to 7.2mbps rite...(i tried with seekly plan and max i get around 2.5mbps with digi modem-e1550...)
*
You are on a 3.6mbps capable modem - E1550 which only limits your full speed to ~2.8/2.9mbps given the overheads involved.

That's why you can' exceed 3mbps.

Same goes to Maxis too if you use your E1550 with their broadband services.

Some Maxis users say that they can reach 4mbps and above is because they are supplied with another Huawei modem which is the E1762.

DiGi should supply this modem instead of the E1550.

Lookout for those 3G Wireless Routers available in the market by DLink, TP-Link and Aztech.

I subscribed to DiGi Unlimited 15 that day.

To my surprised I was capped at 384kbps even when I hardly even used up 10mb on the day day!

Talk about expensive and useless.

Their SmartPlan is no more smart afterall.

RM68 for 3GB? Call rates still at 15cents/min?

Their competitors are already going for LTE and 42mbps HSPA+ . Voice mins, airtime discounts and sms bundles with monthly top up.

hi, can anyone recommend me a prepaid card for me to use just for internet usage? i want to use it for driving from johor to KL and back, maybe once or twice a month type.. so rather use those per day charge..

would be good if connection is fast..

digi prepaid or should i use something else?
*
Do you only use it mainly in the daytime?

Try the RM38 Discover Day Plan with 3GB quota. That's the cheapest I can think of.

The RM68 Digi Broadband is no longer the cheapest and it's slowwww..
Even if you do not exceed your quota come 7pm every night, your speed will reduce to unusable 128kbps consider u don't touch it at night.

For RM68, they should have given a 6GB quota with uncapped 7.2mbps speed for such pricing.

I will use this card maybe one day in the whole of one month maybe from 8am - 11pm and will probably use it just to surf abit, download emails and maybe facebook.. probably wont cross the 100mb per day mark...

Any other suggestions? Thanks

Just use Digi Weekly Unlimited 15 then.

If that week you're not using just cancel it as it renews itself automatically.

Each time you activate, it will give you 7 days of unlimited internet access. However don't forget to cancel it once the last day arrives because it renews itself automatically after that by deducting your credit.

Hmm is there a reason why I shouldn't be using the rm3/day or rm5/day digi plan?

cos if I use the weekly plan, I will only use 1 day for rm15, the other 6 days i won't be using it but i will still need to pay rm15 right?
*
RM15/7 will work out to be roughly around RM2.14 a day.

Should you feel that you'll not be going online everyday then the Easy Plan will fit in nicely with RM3 a day. Else what's RM15 value these days? It can hardly buy you a meal with that kind of amount.

oh no la think u misunderstand.. i will only use this sim card 1 day out of 30 days.. the rest of 29 days i wont use the sim card at all.. i only come into malaysia one day a month max.. so i looking for per day charge.

ahh ok so maybe i should go for the digi easy plan then.. any idea what difference is between the easy at rm3/day vs the normal rm5/day? same speeds right? or will the easy plan be slower.

If 1 day then choose Prepaid plan. Easy Plan has shorter validity period and you can't buy Super Long Life for 1 year validity.

Speed is the same for both

hmm i just went to the website and it seems that the validity only lasts for 5 days after activation?

so does that mean if i were to buy a digi prepaid easy starter pack at 16.80rm tomorrow on friday which has rm8 preloaded credit.. use the internet for 1 day which means the credit has rm5 left.. then i come back into malaysia 2 weeks later, my credit is now 0rm?
There're 2 things you need to know validity period(active) and the 90days line suspension after validity expiry.

When you buy the starter pack and activate it, you have 5 days to use your line before validity period ends and you can only receive calls(can't make calls and connect to internet). This will last for 90days until it gets terminated finally where DiGi reclaims back the number.

If you wish to continue using your line after 2 weeks, you need to top it up again with a certain amount of money(depending on the amount) for the number of days you want your line to remain active.

or

If you want to maintain whole lump sum of credit and make your line active for a period of 1 year without the need to top up, consider subscribing to the Super Long Life option which you need to pay RM30.
