I see this as a testing phase for them. Go with a limited launch first. Then after feedback and testing, go big.

I think this is exclusively a broadband service? 3G services might be later on if I remember correctly.

Glad digi's being honest and realistic to highlight AVERAGE speed. Not shouting about 7.2mbps or something like that.

Maybe Streamyx should follow suit and highlight their average speed instead of 1mbps blah blah blah.

I guess if you move out of coverage areas, it will revert to EDGE?

I'm getting an error 720 when trying to connect today. Says that my modem and the computer it's trying to connect to cannot agree on some PPP protocol or something. What's that lah?

Fair Usage Policy has to be applied, I feel. Else a lot of people will use it to P2P non stop. And this will indirectly affect how many potential people digi is able to sign up, without affecting the connection speed.

And without sufficient people signing up, digi can't make money lah.

Hey man, just saw your post. I can confirm from DiGi's side that we are and am fixing this issue for you. I'll let you know personally once I get confirmation that all has been rectified. Sorry that you have to go through this unpleasant experience.

@PrinceCaspien
I received the email from the broadband guys that your issue have been rectified. So you should not be charged any penalty if you request for termination.

Cheers.

@Demonic Wrath
Can PM me your Broadband's number? If you're not sure, just let me know your mobile number ya. We'll be able to check the usage to see if anything is wrong.

Oh, I'm DiGi's webmaster, btw. It's not my official duty to resolve problems highlighted in lowyat, but I'm just helping whenever I can.

For Discover Package, the quota is limited to 3GB for full speed. After 3GB, the speed will be reduced to 128kbps. You still can surf, send email, or download after you used up the quota. It'll just be slower.

So, in short, No, your surfing time won't increase.

Anyway, this is getting frustrating. What's with the 100% disconnect rate every night @ 8PM till 11PM? The internet will always disconnect during that time. Broadband done right? That's really self-proclaimed.. It's not signal problem.. My signal is constantly 90+ %.

Have you tried forcing WCDMA only under the Settings? That fixed my disconnection problems.

Are you using a wireless router or connecting straight to your PC?

I prefer to think of it as a portable router. So up to 5 gadgets can share the connection.

And yes, it'll still ride on the digi internet line.

Those who offer lower price than what was stated are most likely dealers coming up with their own offers to sweeten the deal. It'll vary from place to place though.
