I wouldn't mind paying if they guarantee the service quality to be on top notch most of the time. Is there any best effort basis promise mentioned in the term and condition clause?

Very easy to detect the coverage... use your 3G phone.

Under "Network" you can manually set to detect the network services. If you only see "DiGi GSM" service, then no coverage. If you see "DiGi 3G" service, then go to the nearest DiGi Outlet to subscribe the DBB. Besides, it's kind-of "contract-less" maaa....

Is this method effective? If it is, then there is coverage in my area thumbup.gif

The only thing you would not know is how strong the DiGi 3G signal is....until you plug-in the SIM card into the modem and watch the signal bars to be in one, two, three, or...full...
*
You cannot check this via phone? I mean by choosing Digi 3G to be your preferred network? blush.gif

use yr phone also can determine da signal strength....usually modem is a gud signal detector compared 2 phone...
*
If that is the case, then there is no 3G coverage in my area. sad.gif
When I choose that as my preferred network, seems like there is no signal.

Thanks for the information.

Is coverage area at Digi Website updated most of the time, or we have to check it manually with the Customer Service Representative? biggrin.gif

Where is your location? Maybe there are few forumers here from your area. Just tell us.

I am from Taman Sri Sentosa. If anyone from Sri Sentosa too, I would appreciate if you could share your experience with me on Digi 3G. smile.gif

QUOTE(dgtel2 @ Mar 30 2009, 03:22 AM)
u cannot simply choose DiGi 3G BB if u don't hv an account with them. even if u do hv the modem, but if u don't hv an active account with DiGi 3G service, u will never know the signal strength.

u can only know there is coverage but not signal strength until u sign-up with their service.
*
Thanks for the information. Is there any probation or cool off period where we can return or cancel the subscription without incurring any penalty fees for weak signal?

What penalty fees will be imposed if you choose to terminate early? As far as I know and have been told by DiGi sales people, there's no contract for subscribing to DiGi Broadband. hmm.gif
*
Thanks for the enlightenment. How about those bundled 3G modem together with the package? As far as I know there's this 12 months monthly installment fees for package bundled together with modem. smile.gif

If you take the one bundled together with a modem, you will have to pay the remaining balance for the modem. Let's say if you already paid for 2 months for the modem, you'll have to pay the remaining 10 months upon termination.
*
I see.
Thanks for the information. smile.gif

Also remember that there will be an advance payment of RM300 as well upon registration (RM100 if auto billing) which needs to be used (unless the 7 day thingy again applies)

So if 2 months u terminate (assuming u paid RM300 adv pymt) all will be burned
*
This apply to Digi Broadband 3G or the one bundled together with modem, or both? blink.gif

It is nice that DiGi's customer service called me to check on my report status. According to that staff, there were DiGi staffs that came in front of my house and test the connection as I reported to them that I am able to get only 380kbps on average. biggrin.gif
*
Now, that's the level of customer support we have been dreaming and seeking for with the amount we are paying for the service. Let's hope they keep it consistent with their customer support service. smile.gif

I personally think it's too early to judge. Wait till their customer base grow blush.gif

but da possibility of getting bad speed is stil low...bcoz dun 4get digi got 14.4Mbps infrastructure...enough 2 cover whole m'sia wif stable connection...

QUOTE(suriah @ Apr 1 2009, 10:44 AM)
yups, that's good. digi have 14.4Mbps infrastructure but only said package for 2Mbps, then customer not over estimated their speed  nod.gif

QUOTE(NicolasLau @ Apr 1 2009, 11:04 AM)
ya digi the max speed is 14mb but they only launch 2mb package cos i think they don want making so many problem and making many complaint. so i think digi is better choise but i hope can digi can launch to ohter place it in ealry this few month
*
As far as I know, that's the maximum speed from the tower and it is not a dedicated speed allocated to per user. When more and more people join Digi 3G, the more of the said 14.4Mbps connection are shared by the amount of users online at a particular time. That is when it is the right time to judge and conclude the overall quality of the 3G connection by Digi.
