In this case then it is probably just my area as everything was fast in Sunway just now.

Here's a morning speedtest with the Extreme plan. I already lodged a report to DiGi and they too say that it shouldn't be like this as I'm within high speed range. There's probably some technical issues in my area since I am able to get 3mbps in Sunway.

Another speedtest that it started off at 30mbps and then slowing down until 17mbps, in a way yes it is just a sudden burst of speed.

So far, the best performance with DiGi Broadband is still in One Utama based on my experience.

YongKaiLoon, can you try doing some real time downloads and P2P stuff for us to see its performance?
*
I'll do it when I'm outside as when I'm home, the speed is as though it is capped at 384kbps because my download speed is around 380kbps on average.

wah da speed drop juz even after 2 weeks of launching??? how its going 2 b after 12 months?  hmm.gif

Some areas are blazing fast and some areas are having some problems getting high speed. Using DiGi Broadband in shopping malls is a breeze and even free WiFi services can't match DiGi Broadband.

myb digi allocates more bandwidth there...juz my 2 cents..
*
Probably, even their customer service was shocked on the speed I'm getting here in my place as he said I should be getting high speeds as it is under the 7.2mbps coverage and I'm not even getting 700kbps. wink.gif

QUOTE(lazzy @ Mar 26 2009, 06:41 PM)
I am considering switching from streamyx to DiGi but couple of questions hopefully current Digi broadband subscribers can answer:

1. What IP address are you being assinged? Public or Private?

2. I am looking at Extreme Plan RM188 but what does it mean "Max Capped at RM188", does that mean unlimited data and no slow-down?
*
The reason they mentioned that it is max capped at RM188 is because the other two packages will be charged extra for additional usage once they breach the quota and the Extreme package doesn't but the speed will be throttled of course.

i oso thinking switch 2 digi

With the higher bandwidth, I can multi-task as well. I was downloading at 700kB/s and still I can browse the web smoothly which I can't with TMNET Streamyx. I just refrain from heavy downloading with DiGi and everything will be fine. I'll use DiGi to download if I need that particular large file urgently. biggrin.gif

Added on March 27, 2009, 10:15 pmthe contract period is 24mths rite.?
Early term got fee ar..?
*
There's no minimum subscription period but if you were to take the modem from DiGi and if you terminate it before 12 months, you'll have to pay the remaining balance for the modem.

In the coverage map, there is no coverage for Taman Connaught, Cheras but when I tried it there, there's HSPA coverage so if your area isn't in the coverage map but somewhere nearby is in the coverage map, there's a high possibility that your area is covered although it isn't in the coverage map. smile.gif

today i test digi broadband speed at digi centre at digital mall pj

download 5.0mb

upload 2.0mb

Well DiGi is really strong around Petaling Jaya and considering that the amount of subscribers at the moment is still less than the other 2 big players, we will have to wait and see whether they can cope with it in the future but for now based on my experience, DiGi is at the top of my list. smile.gif

Thanks for the information.

Is coverage area at Digi Website updated most of the time, or we have to check it manually with the Customer Service Representative?  biggrin.gif
*
Well, they do keep it updated frequently but it isn't 100% accurate though. smile.gif

I am from Taman Sri Sentosa. If anyone from Sri Sentosa too, I would appreciate if you could share your experience with me on Digi 3G.  smile.gif
Thanks for the information. Is there any probation or cool off period where we can return or cancel the subscription without incurring any penalty fees for weak signal?
*
What penalty fees will be imposed if you choose to terminate early? As far as I know and have been told by DiGi sales people, there's no contract for subscribing to DiGi Broadband. hmm.gif

Thanks for the enlightenment. How about those bundled 3G modem together with the package? As far as I know there's this 12 months monthly installment fees for package bundled together with modem.  smile.gif
*
If you take the one bundled together with a modem, you will have to pay the remaining balance for the modem. Let's say if you already paid for 2 months for the modem, you'll have to pay the remaining 10 months upon termination.
