My speed has been back to consistent for the past few days. Hopefully whatever problem digi had for the past 2 weeks has been resolved

[quote=rainbow6,Sep 1 2010, 10:11 PM]I'm just started to use this Explore and its supposed to be 3.5G etc..
Is this true 3.5G or speed is capped to 1mbit dl?
I know for sure the sim card profile showed 1024 dl.

It is the 3GB quota is calculate downloaded and uploaded data both together?

Added on August 22, 2010, 11:42 pmI just signed up 3GB discover plan but after I used for 1 week its seem no enough for me so I would like to updated to RM108@ 10GB plan...do any body know that it is I'm able to update to that plan for free? or how they'll charge me? btw, am I still able to get the 4xRM20 debat? and one more question is that the discover 3GB plan modem is different with the more advance plan?
somebody please help me to solve the problem..

Thanks for the info. Are you sure no capped? I used this MDMA software and it shows that DIGI profile as 1024DL, 128UL while a Maxis profile showed 8096DL and 2048UL (HSUPA) and my blackberry Celcom is worst, with a profile of 384DL/128UL. I haven't test the speed cause I will be wasting my 3GB limit but latency of digi is about 180ms (RSSI -71dBm) compared to Maxis 100ms (RSSI -93dBm) if test to local Malaysian server. Can anyone else test using the MDMA (http://www.nerve.org.za) and check their profile and see if their test speed is faster than their profile?

I just got tired of changing providers and being cheated by them, some said theirs is 3.5G and the modem showed 3.5G but speed is not more than 384K.

i try using mdma and yes, i got same as you.... 1024DL and 384UL.... meaning they cap the speed....and my plan is discovery plan...dont know about others plan.... for maxis because they said their speed can go up to 7.2mbps rite...(i tried with seekly plan and max i get around 2.5mbps with digi modem-e1550...)

You are on a 3.6mbps capable modem - E1550 which only limits your full speed to ~2.8/2.9mbps given the overheads involved.

That's why you can' exceed 3mbps.

Same goes to Maxis too if you use your E1550 with their broadband services.

Some Maxis users say that they can reach 4mbps and above is because they are supplied with another Huawei modem which is the E1762.

DiGi should supply this modem instead of the E1550.

dude, u need to force WCDMA. so it wont jump to EDGE in areas where 3G coverage is weaker than EDGE. that normally solves the issue.

Just want to check, is the modem given by Digi is unlock. Meaning I can use others operators or maybe oversea ISP?

Is the rm38 7am - 7pm plan still available? Is it rm38 all the way, or first 6 months only? My rm48 I.U plan keeps getting throttled. Lolz
