So the rediscoverbroadband website is now undergoing some changes, I guess the new plans will be displayed there soon.

Hopefully the data service will be available for current DiGi postpaid users as I want to give it a try first.

I'm not convinced by the staffs at the One Utama promo show, they are just not sure about the fees if a termination is done. Some of the staffs even told me a different thing from another staff.

I went with my friend to sign up for DiGi Broadband in One Utama this afternoon and took the extreme package together with the modem since the modem's price is really attractive. I'll post the speed when I'm able to test it out.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Mar 22 2009, 06:13 AM) I'm very dissapointed with DIGI....what crap 3GB, 5GB and 10GB limit... Fair Usage Policy has been implemented in other countries and it does work for them. In Malaysia, the Fair Usage Policy does not help at all as the service seems to degrade overtime so let's just hope it doesn't happen with DiGi.not meant for heavy downloader like me. And their package is only slightly cheaper than Celcom... I'll pass.I guess broadband is NEVER done right in Malaysia. Streamyx still owns this country...sigh. |

QUOTE(suyee @ Mar 22 2009, 11:31 AM) 1) Discover Package (RM 0.15 = 1 Unit = 10MB) No, what they mean by RM138 is that when you exceeded 3GB for the discover plan, you will continued to be charged until your bill touches RM138 and then it will stay there.--------------------------------------------------------- RM 58.00 = - unit = 3072MB RM 138.00 = 920 unit = 9200MB -------------------------------------- RM 196.00 = - unit = 12272MB *About 12GB 2) Explore Package (RM 0.05 = 1 Unit = 10MB) --------------------------------------------------- RM 108.00 = - unit = 10240MB RM 138.00 = 2760 unit = 27600MB ---------------------------------------- RM 246.00 = - unit = 37840MB *About 35GB 3) Extreme Package (Max Capped RM188) ?? -------------------------------------------------- RM188 = - unit = 20480 MB Free if exceed 20GB ? Is that Digi using the calculation like that ? |

QUOTE(suyee @ Mar 22 2009, 12:01 PM) If like that, This is what u mean ? Yes, once it reaches RM138, you'll only have to pay RM138 for that month. 1) Discover Package (RM 0.15 = 1 Unit = 10MB) --------------------------------------------------------- Max Capped RM 138 RM 58.00 = - unit = 3072MB RM 80.00 = 533 unit = 5333MB -------------------------------------- RM 138.00 = - unit = 8405MB *About 8GB 2) Explore Package (RM 0.05 = 1 Unit = 10MB) --------------------------------------------------- Max Capped RM 138 RM 108.00 = - unit = 10240MB RM 30.00 = 600 unit = 6000MB ---------------------------------------- RM 138.00 = - unit = 16240MB *About 16GB 3) Extreme Package (Max Capped RM188) ?? -------------------------------------------------- RM188 = - unit = 20480 MB |

QUOTE(jason110 @ Mar 22 2009, 04:02 PM) It is solely up to your preference as if you would need the speed so badly then go for the broadband package. DiGi EDGE on the other hand is slower but there is no Fair Usage Policy so it is truely unlimited. |

QUOTE(suyee @ Mar 22 2009, 08:06 PM) It true. I play 24 hours 192kbps online radio streaming. few day already use up few GB already. Which is why usually wireless broadband services are not meant for really heavy usage. It is catered for those who are always on-the-move or just need a broadband for daily web browsing and some light downloading. If someone use it for Bittorent. 1 Weeks already exceed the limit. |

QUOTE(MakNok @ Mar 23 2009, 09:23 AM) still i am not happy with Digi for the low unreasonable pricing I'm sure they have done enough research to determine they pricing. They have just started off and I'm sure they cannot afford to set the pricing to cheap or they might make a loss then.Discover : RM58 - 3GB Explore : RM108 - 10GB Extreme : RM188 - 20GB Since they got throttled policy...they should have set higher in order to compete and killing off Celcom BB and Maxis BB my suggestion; Discover : RM58 - 10GB Explore : RM108 - 20GB Extreme : RM188 - 30GB Guanrantee will kill of Celcom and Maxis anytime.. |

QUOTE(gary73 @ Mar 23 2009, 11:07 AM) i've also recently subscribed.. using the 'explorer' package. dont need much else. still have streamyx at home(been getting progressively bad recently though). Yes those speeds are excellent since it is only advertised to have up to 700kbps but it can touch 1mbps and it is the same for international servers as well. i'm not technical, but i need it as a backup, especially when i need an internet connection urgently (if no hsdpa, at least got edge). I actually signed up maxis broadband 1 year ago. the problem is, its totally useless.. i live in subang, and it doesnt work at all. keeps disconnecting even with hsdpa full bar, i have long periods of totally nothing happening and always disconnecting. to add salt to the wound, after cancelling almost a year ago, and having to make 2 complaints, 1 by phone, the other in person at maxis centre, i am still being billed today for a service i no longer subscribe to. Will never touch maxis ever again. bearing in mind that the service is still new, and not many users on board.. i am at least enjoying decent speeds now that are consistent, and doesn't disconnect. even in areas with no hsdpa, edge speed is consistent and reliable. i just did a couple of speed tests.. dunno if these numbers are good or if the test is even a good reflection of performance?? if performance gets worse in future, no big deal, can cancel anytime. |

QUOTE(K for Ketamine @ Mar 23 2009, 12:16 PM) anyone can verifies the throttle happen after quote or RM138 ? It won't hurt to read the FAQ on DiGi's website but here is the answer to your question:can anyone confirm the throttle speed download & upload 64/128Kbps ? what the latency b4 & after throttle ? during throttle mode, connected as HSDPA or EDGE ? Q16. And what happens after I’ve reach the maximum capped amount…? A16. My, my.. You will still be able to access the internet but your broadband connection will be throttled to a lower speed of 128kbps for all 3 packages. QUOTE(TrialUserXP @ Mar 23 2009, 12:29 PM) waiting for it to deploy at my area soon... or reduce the current edge package will be a good move as well.. I think the price for DiGi EDGE service is quite reasonable considering that it does not have a Fair Usage Policy so it is a true unlimited Internet connection. |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Mar 23 2009, 12:35 PM) In my opinion, the upload speed will always be lower than the download speed so if the capping speed is 128kbps for download then I'm sure the upload will be 64kbps since anything lower than 64kbps for upload is too low for a broadband connection. Anything lower than 64kbps (8kB/s) can cause a serious lag issue if the connection is multi-tasking. |
