Already gotten a quote from my dad's friend. Looking for recommendation from wise forumers here for other good contractors smile.gif

Property is @Putrajaya. Only kitchen area. I already bought tiles, just need installation.

Cheers! biggrin.gif

Hey Syd G,

How much does your dad's friend quote for you? What's square feet you want the tiles to cover?

The cheapest way is u but the materials eg. tiles, cement & sand, the contractor charges u on labour by square feet. Sometimes u can get "clear stock" tiles with very cheap price, this was what I did last time smile.gif

Had the floor for a small apartment kitchen re-done, maybe less than 9' by 9'. The first contractor quoted RM1,200 (everything inclusive). Immediately knew it was a ripoff. Second contractor quoted RM800 (everything inclusive also) and said it was a 2-day job. Still seems expensive, but was short on time.

He bought tiles for abt RM100, some cement. Took abt 6-7 hours only (1 day). Which seems a bit slipshod. The tiles don't line up properly. (#$&%(*#$@&%#@. So he got more than RM600 for 1 days work. Pretty certain I got ripped.

- Ask the tile shop for recommendation. More reliable, since they probably won't simply recommend and they know which contractors are good.

- Make sure you supervise when they lay the tiles and make sure it lines up properly

area about 9ft x 9ft for RM800 all in is reasonable liao...time is bad, ppl want to cari makan also, u already save RM400 compared to first contractor tongue.gif if u negotiate some more, they cut the price & the also cut the quality (materials & work).
