I stay in a condominium. Today I received a letter from management office request me to pay the amount of money to fix the water leakage that affect my downstairs floor unit. Before this, I never received any invitation from them to jointly inspect the leakage at the my downstair unit. They also did not show me any photos.

In the letter, it's just a few lines demanding to pay the amount for fixing and also within 10 days.

We are very disappointed as this should be dealt in a more professional manner by the management office people. We pay them highly maintenance fees promptly every month and yet, we get this unfair and not proper treatment (lack of information and poor coordination).

Owners are obliged to repair at their cost any damage to adjacent parcels if it is determined that the source of the damage is from the parcel.

Of course, you have the right to be shown evidence of such claim by the other party. The management office is technically issuing the demand notice on behalf of the affected parcel. You can request that supporting documents be furnished to you to support their claim.
