Like you have some stored SMS and tons of old contacts in your simcard, how do you delete them and transfer address book from phone to Sim?

and I did an "Import Sim Contact" by accidental and there were so many duplicate names but with different phone number... is it the only way to clear them unwanted from your address book is manually delete them?

Sync your contacts with Ms Outlook using Itunes.

Delete all the contacts in Ms Outlook and sync your Iphone again.

I believe this will empty your contact list in the iphone.

Import Sim contact back to your Iphone again.

mmm... sorry if i put in the wrong sentences... let me try to understand better.
i freshly put in my contact 1 by 1 brand new to the iPhone already. So i don't wanna delete or crash my head if i had to redo a few hundred contacts lol.

Sync your contacts with Ms Outlook using Itunes.
- so whatever i have in the phone i sync to MS Outlook? or does this only sync the sim card data?

Delete all the contacts in Ms Outlook and sync your Iphone again.
- wouldn't this like delete my whole address book hence the bottom point?

I believe this will empty your contact list in the iphone.
- omg i'll kill myself(?)

Import Sim contact back to your Iphone again.
- hmmm old data?

-------------------------

i think i fail in asking questions tongue.gif

What my main concern is, how do i delete all my old data from my simcard which is already in the iphone? (without touching my existing address book which i created fresh from the oven)

Alright I get what you mean.

the question is did you like backup your address book which you inserted one by one into your iphone before this? If not I guess you have to manually 1 by 1 remove those duplicate contacts.

I did the same silly mistake once also. But I just did like what I just mentioned before this and import back the contacts from the sim card.

As for the transfer your contacts to your Sim card probably you can check out a 3rd party application called ISim. Can check it out here

http://www.makayama.com/iphonesim.html

But i notice something...

Attention: only for first generation, jailbroken iPhones, firmware version 1.0.0 to 1.1.4. Not for iPhone 3G. Your iPhone needs to be 'jailbroken' to install software and, equiped with Installer App. Try before you buy.

Probably other members could give you some information regarding this. I not sure bout it though. Get the information from google.
