Proof can be had if you go to areas like Pudu, its a bus terminal, full of ppl yet its not safe, few friends got robbed in broad daylight in a crowded area not to mention those who kena pick pocketed
Proof aso can be had if you ask around if any been robbed around KLCC in brought day light or not

If you are into building or civil engineer, you'll realised that the foundation of a building both structurally and geographical conditions where the proposed building to be built is crucial
You just cant build something ontop of a weak structure/foundation

Similiarly, security and mentality in this case are akin to the aforementioned foundation

Simply increase the number of people using the bridge...

Increasing the number of people is one of those traditional ways but still i believe securities should be increase especially when there is more people using the facilities. It doesn't has to be increasing proportionately with the numbers of people using the facility but at least adding more securities could reduce crime rate to a lower level rather than just relying on the traditional ways. You cannot simply said the more people at a specific location, the safer it is. It COULD look safer but it doesn't mean it WOULD be safer.
