Penternakan Burung Walit

1. Keperluan fizikal dan perilaku haiwan pembiak dan bukan pembiak;
2. Perlakuan berperikemanusiaan;
3. Keselamatan manusia;
4. Keselesaan pengurusan haiwan, dan

1. Collocalia esculenta cyanoptila.
2. Collocalia linchi dodgie.
3. Aerodramus fuciphagus vestitus.
4. Aerodramus fuciphagus amechanus.
5. Aerodramus fuciphagus fuciphagus.
6. Aerodramus maximus lowi.
7. Aerodramus maximus tichelmani.

When expert tell you that your old birds will stay at your BHs as long as they live? Correct but then not 100% and why? Like one very old friend told me that a 1st. guideline for swiftlets ranching sound alot like chicken breeding guideline but coming to think of it, there are some logic in it....birds are birds and by observing the mother hen behind your house, you will understand more about the swiftlets behaviors.

Swiftlets will lay their eggs in the location all their life like the mother hens do but then like the mother hens, if you prevent them from returning, they may move to another location. True or False, and let me give you a case history. A few years ago, I bought a BH having only 40 nests and during the same period, an old BH  about 60 meters away having over 8K birds did some renovation and the renovation lasted for 3 months and what really happened was that my BH was  having 40 tiny small BNs and after 3 months end up with more than 450 nests mostly over 3 fingers big. Just tell me where did the big adult birds that make my hugh nests came from?

This is just to share some of my old happenings and hope that will help you to manage your BH better.

Thks for the clarification. It is a very sensitive post, as officers with minimal knowledge will take that statements to justify their wrong actions.

2 Vietnamese tourists were arrested in KLIA on 01.07.09 by Wildlife enforcement officer for bringing 10kg of bird’s nest out of country without paying exit tax for it. They were remanded without allowing bail in Balai Sepang lock-up till today and only bailed out at RM500/= each. They will be charged on 09.07.09 in Sepang Magistrate court. The offence carries a penalty of maximum fine of not more than RM1,000.

Understand that the Vietnamese are prominent personalities in their own country. They purchased the nests in KL through recommendation of local friends as hand gift after a holiday tour here. This is the first time they were introduced to Malaysian nests. They were not aware that there is a law requiring exit tax of RM100/kg to be paid in advance before nests could be brought out of country. Malaysia is the only country that practises this..

The Vietnamese also did not apprehend why there exists such a serious law that they were not allowed to be bailed out by a lawyer engaged by their local friends. They were bringing foreign revenue to Malaysia. They were prepared to pay for the compound which was rejected by the officer. As such they were remanded in a filthy cell cramped together with many local criminals and drug addicts since 01.07.09 till today.

Reported in The Star today.

Lure of the birds and nest : Located in a new commercial precinct in the heart of petaling jaya is a company that invites people to invest in the bird's nest business by asking them to cough up RM24,800 to purchase a "lot" but one has the option to buy more lots.

The company known as Golden Nest Properties International (M) Bhd has been operating for 10 months from the second floor of a new office development.

..

A reporter went undercover as a potential investor to the Golden Nest office.

There, he found half-dozen scantily dressed young girls "persuading" potential investors or "assisting" them in filling up the application forms.

According to a company official, the investment has a guaranteed return of RM200 per month per lot for the first two years. In subsequent years, there is a minimum guaranteed return of RM700 per month per lot coupled with an annual dividend of RM3,000.

..

The Golden Nest official said the properties owned by the company were existing properties that were under RENOVATION.

The RM200 returns promised in the first two years before the properties are operational will come from the proceeds of bird's nest sales," he said.

He said in subsequent years, the projected minimum income of RM560 per month per lot would come from harvesting the bird's nests from the lots owned by the owners.

He said each farm had 1,260 lots of which only 48% or 600 lots were being sold to the public. The remainder would be owned by Golden Nest.

hehe.....so good ahh.....i also want to list my farms liao...

ok...1,260 lots per farm that are still under renovation...so it means the farm is still with ZERO nests....k....

each lot is RM24,800, so total per farm is RM31,248,000.00.

?? wah.....RM31 million farm..where ?? show us?

then, each lot is quaranteed RM520.00 per month per lot.

so each farm with 1260 lots will need to sell RM705,600.00 of bird's nests to pay the owners.

with bn price now at rm3,800 (average) per kg.

the farm need to harvest 185.68 kg of nests per month.

and to be able to harvest that qty per month, the farm needs to have at least 70,000 nests inside the farm in order to continuously harvest that qty of nests every month.

REALLY GOT PEOPLES INVEST IN THIS ???.......

SPREAD THE NEWS...WARN THE ORDINARY PEOPLES.....

Went over to Penang last week and met one famous consultant.

Understand there is a new federal law coming out forbid bird hotel in towns and now associations fighting against it.

Wonder anyone hear anything about this?

Noted quite a few bhs selling in the market, some below market value, one in my hometown 600 nests 520k something like that. It is some people aready got the news?

Penang seems to face a lot of harassment though your building facade well maintained and painted, sound well tune etc. Only 11 licenses issued so far. Many tried to applied but too much red tapes, bring you merry-go-round all because of one thing, $$.

Head saying something, tail does not follow order, in a way trying to sabotage the state.

Noted many trees blocking road signs from town to airport. Working level trying to sabotage state gomen?

Anyway, not trying to create big hoohaa here or press panic button. Will fight when necessary to fight.

Info above might not be accurate as all hearing from people talking but no evidence to substantiate.
*
Those that rely on their association to inform them the status are always receiving the news too late n in this case, the good news are not spread to them (hopefully, cross fingers, pray to god !) and they might still think that the doom days is near, thats why they panic and try to sell as soon as possible...

Thats what happen now not only in penang, but in all states. but we have yet seen fire sales as the market still selling at

RM1000 for each nest plus shop price and renovation cost.

A 600++ nests 3 storey shop is selling at RM1.3 Millions with shop cost at RM550K.

A 2000 nests 2 storey shop is selling at RM2.6 Millions with shop cost at RM350K.

A 200 nests 2 storey 2 units shop are selling at RM1 Million with shops cost at RM700k.

As for bobby case, 600 nests for 520K, in three years, u will get back at least RM200,000.00 in return from bn income !!...good deal? sure is!.

If u calculate 20% grow..u will get back your money in no time....n 20% is very conservative figures......u can easily exceed that by one fold if u know what u needs to do n the swiftlets grant you the wishes... rolleyes.gif

Lure of the birds and nest

Located in a new commercial precinct in the heart of Petaling Jaya is a company that invites people to invest in the bird’s nest business by asking them to cough up RM24,800 to purchase a “lot” but one has the option to buy more lots.

The company known as Golden Nest Properties International (M) Bhd has been operating for 10 months from the second floor of a new office development.

A call to the Registrar of Companies showed that it was registered under registration number 838068-V.

Starprobe started an investigation following a complaint via e-mail from a member of the public who claimed that the returns promised were “pretty high”.

He also claimed that he did not receive his refund of RM100 made as a deposit against the lot as the company said it was made “too long ago”.

A reporter went undercover as a potential investor to the Golden Nest office.

There, he found half-dozen scantily dressed young girls “persuading” potential investors or “assisting” them in filling up the application forms.

According to a company official, the investment has a guaranteed return of RM200 per month per lot for the first two years. In subsequent years, there is a minimum guaranteed return of RM700 per month per lot coupled with an annual dividend of RM3,000.

She claimed there were only 600 lots left to be subscribed and that they were going fast.

Once the lots were fully subscribed the company planned to list, she said, adding that the lots would be worth much more post-listing.

At the office, there was also a funkily dressed man addressed by the rest as “Datuk”.

He was there to answer any difficult questions posed by potential investors.

Another reporter, who made a follow-up call to the company with the allegations from the complainant, spoke to another company official who said that there was a 10-day cooling-off period for refunds of deposits.

“If it’s more than 10 days, a depositor will not get the refund,” he said.

The official also said the company was not offering the public shares but selling properties in which bird’s nests were being cultivated.

He said the company had properties or “farms” located in Klang and Sungai Petani and others in Johor and Malacca and was thinking of listing five years down the road.

“We spoke to the Securities Commission earlier in the year on our plans for listing and they said we need to come out with a prospectus. We cannot do that as the company is less than a year old,” he added.

He said if the company was approved for a listing, the lot owners would get share subscription forms.

Starprobe checked with the Securities Commission where a spokesman said there was no formal application or approval given to Golden Nest in its records.

The Golden Nest official said the properties owned by the company were existing properties that were under renovation.

“The RM200 returns promised in the first two years before the properties are operational will come from the proceeds of bird’s nest sales,” he said.

He said in subsequent years, the projected minimum income of RM560 per month per lot would come from harvesting the bird’s nests from the lots owned by the owners.

He said each farm had 1,260 lots of which only 48% or 600 lots were being sold to the public. The remainder would be owned by Golden Nest.

Brother,

not that no one wants to help u. by just showing a farm sketch and ask ppl to comment, for what?.

So, u want to ask if this is a good design?.

Well, no.

but i have seen a similar design and the farm did quite well too!. 4 years 400+ nests. to me is ok as at least he see continuous nest growth of average 10 nests a month!.. and among the farm there (3 farms total), this farm is the Top and it is not the first!.

but then this will not be my selection of design i adopt to my farms though...i dont wish to try my luck.

In swiftlet keeping, there is no bad designs that quaranteed u fail 100% and there is no good designs that quaranteed u success 100%.....we choose the most frequent n most suitable design and still know that it will not 100% quarantee it will succeed to attracts many birds.......that the true real facts....can u take true facts??... can u open up your mind to listen to real hard facts that will knock you out of your wonderland where in this wonderland, everything do have a solution to quarantee u success.....

If i talk some more here, i guess i will break a lot of industry players rice bowls...so, lets just keep it as a secret.

so, how?. more confuse?....do some medication to clear your mind!. biggrin.gif oops...not medication but meditation!..hehe...

huatlee,

there are plenty of this so called investing in SF by lots...

no point to write all of it here,

if want to help, just post your experiences in investing forum to warn ppls to be warry of this scam.

There is one in KT n in many states which also ask ppl to invest in building SF by promoting so called High Tech SF and they too gives out rosy forecast of ROI to attract ppls to invest.

Tangn, good luck.

Friend,

seeseng n my answer should have helped u. wah..help u some more talk liked that ahh??

When i build my farms many years ago...i want to find someone to ask questions also cannot find ahh....u pay money then peoples tell u loh...
and u want sound..pay money loh..thats how i learn how to farm.

Now, so many peoples gives free services n free sounds u also don't think it is GOOD??

wah....what u expect?.... u never tells us more details...just sketches....

U might be frustrated by the farm progress, if thats the case, fine, u can send more info to me or to any old birds here, we will help u for FREE! .

Don't gives up hope. Nothing to be frustrated, it is just birds we are talking here...Not Life n Death.

Bob,
u take the risk, u gain n u take the risk. U dont take the risk, u gain nothing n u loose nothing.

Just liked last time, when we start our farms in one new place, only few birds respond. after one year, the population grow in hundreds!.

If u want less risky, put the money in the bank n earn interest is the safest u can get. when u invest, u calculate the possibility of farms been demolish or not..if ur calculation that this will not happen, then u buy. but if u are doomer, u will sit there n wait.
Those who not managed to fire sale their farms will smile all the way for the rest of their life.
and Those who managed to fire sale their farms will ` Ja Choon Doi ' for the rest of their life.

I know many cases but i dont hv the prove, so i don't highlight.

since the star highlighted one such case, we will use this case to warn all new investors especially chinese educated investors as they are the one that the scam taiko's are targeting..

So, if u want to help translate it into chinese, and post it to all investment related forum and from there hopefully can alert some of them.

Those here in this forum should able to differentiate good or bad (well, not all...as some percentage still hoping for wonderland solutions ).

thats my own suggestion n u no need to follow. smile.gif

so, how to identify if it is a scam?

look at their harvesting forecast, then u should know.

before a farm been build, if they forecast within one year they can harvest 2kg...that means 250 nests a month and to consistently harvesting this qty u need about 900 ~ 1000 nests in your farm.

So, how many farm u came across that do have this result...how many percent..1 or 2 %.....even the owner himself could not believed that his farm is with 1000 nests within one year.....most of them just put it pure luck that they build the farm there at the right place and at the right time.

As i always said, No bad design quarantee u 100% failure, n no good design guarantee u 100% success.

but then, how many ppls will believes this.......1 or 2 %?? haha.....maybe even less......

If you don't mind the distance, I know a sawmill in Kuala Terengganu that produces Red Meranti nesting planks with the following spec

Planks size can be pre-ordered.
Planks are moulded with grooved lines on both sides.
All planks are KILN DRIED (KD) in Kiln Dry chambers, thus you got straighter planks to reduced air gap in between ceiling and high resistance to mold formation.

Read the advantages and benefit of kiln dried timber here.
Advantages of kiln dried timber
Benefit of KD timbers

It is not easy to find ( nor you are able to identify it ) KD nesting planks from your neighborhood store kayu or a small time sawmiller because setting up a KD facility needs high capital expenditure and sales volume.

Indicative price for 1" x 6" size is RM2500 ex factory per tonne. (take note, these are Kiln Dried planks!!)

good info. thks.

Just a little advices...

Don't get those specialised in building swiftlet farms to build yr farm...

get real contractor who build shop, concrete building....that's the real contractor....

many specialised swiftlet farm builders are not specialised in contruction !!!

thats why so many `Don't know when it will fall' farms existed in malaysia.....

Ask them their background....most of them are either hardware owners, farmers then only becomes contractor, consultant then becomes contractor.....many many oh....

Building a farm is very very simple....there is no secret or eistein formula.

Get an architect to draw up a proper plan.

Get an engineer to design the structure.

Get a Real Contractor to build according to design.

is all u need.

want to save a few thousands....becomes a contractor on your own.

Get a team of subcon to work for u, u buy material n supervise their works with your limited or zero experiences, u can save about 80k if u appoint a chinese/malay/indian sub contractor or 100K if u appoint a Indonesian sub contractor....How sure are u that they are contructing according to spec??....

The cost of appointing an indonesian sub contractor is about 60K~80K for a three storey farm. so, u want the cost of the building...add it up and u will be surprised how much it takes to build one diy farm....

But think twice before u do it DIY if u got no experience at all....

it is just liked u don't go see doctor as u think u can cures urself with ur own medicine n method...at the end...die liao also nobody knows.

A farm is very easy to build...important thing...FOUNDATION!!!!!...

Make sure proper piling work is done.

Make sure footing is done according to spec.

Make sure Ground Beam is done according to spec.

Make sure Column raised is done according to spec.

Make sure 1st floor beam n 1st floor slab is done according to spec.

...n continue........

failing to check those...u might see ur farm entrance hole is on the ground and ur amp hanging some where near the sky........

Lucas1,

One stack of ringgits still looks much better than few bags of bn...hehe...

Found this once a lifetime opportunity online while not able to sleep n searching ....

kamalswift.com

Their Projection of Nest Harvesting as follow :

60 x 80 ft x 4 storey farm somewhere in Sg Tengas

1st month to 7th month - No nests income . yawn.gif

on the 8th month - 2kg n increasing every month thumbup.gif

On the 16 month - 6.5kg n increasing every month rclxm9.gif

On the 20 month - 10.5kg n increasing every month notworthy.gif

On the 24 month - 14.5 kg n increasing every month shocking.gif drool.gif

so, in two years time, the farm will have at least 5500 nests inside in order to harvest 15kg a month......... shocking.gif

OMG!!!.....WHO SAID 2000 NESTS IN ONE YEAR IS NOT POSSIBLE!!.... vmad.gif

WAIT.......

this result is purportedly recorded in one of their farm in Mojokorto, Indonesia.....

and they presume that with the same design, with the same method, they will able to get the same result here in malaysia... rclxms.gif

So,what u think.....i want to take one lot lah!!!.....better than investing in stock what!!......

But then why they want to get ppls to invest, their selling price is low at RM400K a farm, n dividing it into 100 lots...one lot only RM4K...

WHY??....we can take one full farm !!......

But u have to sign an agreement with me and quaranteed this result on the 2nd year that the farm will have 5000 nests or else to pay me equivalent of RM5 millions compensation for my loss of future or projected income, then i will buy not one but 10 farms !...

BUT WAIT....THEY ARE NOT DOING SWIFTLET KEEPING......THEY ARE DOING SWIFTLET FARMING...LIKED FARMING CHICKEN!!!....

THIS IS NEW....IN THAT CASE......BN PRICE WILL DROP FROM RM4000 A KILO....TO RM40 A KILO SINCE WE CAN FARM THEM......

BUT.....

TO FARM SWIFTLETS TO PRODUCED 15KG OF BN A MONTH...

THEY WILL NEED TO FEED 5000 NESTS X 3 BIRDS (INCLUDE YOUNG CHICS) = 15,000 BIRDS A DAY.

THAT IS A LOT OF BIRDS TO FEED!!!..........

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE......

Added on July 18, 2009, 11:07 amCAN ANYONE IN KEDAH GO THERE AND TAKE A LOOK ??

SG TENGAS, KULIM, KEDAH.

?? ANY VOLUNTEERS TO HELP TO INVESTIGATE WHETHER THIS INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY IS REAL??

Added on July 18, 2009, 11:22 amThe Sg Tengas, Kulim, Kedah project are as follow :

Total Area of Breeding swiftlet is 62,156 sqft (1.5 acrea??).

Total Farm contruct = 12 units.

So, in order to have 5000 nests at each farm, total birds been trap in this area is 180,000 birds....isn't a lot of birds to trap in this tiny area??.....

according to CK lim book, half a million swiftlet population in sarawak cave consume about 2 tons of insects per day (estimation). that mean, the area needs to produce 1 ton of insects per day in order to feed this swiftlets !!..

Added on July 18, 2009, 11:28 amthey are very convincing that swiftlets can survived with just feeds for their foods instead of insects...

but, will the bird's nests be as good as those that produced from swiftlets in nature that eat insects with natural proteins !!..

NO WONDER DURING THE MEETING, THE CHAIRMAN DID MENTIONED THAT

WE NEED TO FIND OTHER WAYS TO FARM SWIFTLETS AS

THE WORLD IS CHANGING AND THE CLIMATE IS CHANGING THAT

IT WILL AFFECT THE WHOLE WORLD WHERE FOOD WILL BE SCARCE TO FIND...

AND SWIFTLETS WILL NOT ABLE TO FIND ENOUGH INSECTS TO SURVIVE.....

HELLO !!!!....

IF SWIFTLETS CANNOT SURVIVE...U THINK HUMAN BEING CAN SURVIVE????

HUMAN BEING WILL HAVE NO TIME TO EAT BIRD'S NEST BUT FIGHTING,

ROB FOOD FROM EVERYONE IN ORDER TO SURVIVE!!!!....

THIS IS REDICULOUS !!!!.....
