im using the 1st gen 8 gig iphone, got this about october 2007.

i never encountered any signal problems till lately. i decided to upgrade to the new firmware and its now worst.

example of problem before the upgrade:
sms always cant send through, must keep resending even in a signal strong area for other people in on my mobile network

and

cant seem to call out , must try at least 3 times on some occasions.

the weird part is this all happens when im in the open, so it cant be my carrier? in car park basements i sms/call as per usual.

not to mention weakened battery life.

AFTER the upgrade.
my singals dont fluctuate so much etc. how ever

im getting this:
30 mins miss call delay from celcom notifier. or unable to contact me for some time.
sms i send out doesnt go through, (celcom to celcom though?)

i dont receive sms's (overseas)

calling out is a b**** some times.

BATT LIFE IS NOW SHIT!

can some one help me out here. I really think my iPhone is gone case, or is there some underlying cause.

Maybe you can try a different sim card and see? Back when I was using my iPhone 1st Gen, at first it worked well with my Maxis 128k sim, then after a few months later, I kept on getting no service for no reason. But when I tried with a Digi 64k sim, it worked perfectly. So perhaps it could be that my Maxis 128k sim is faulty or something. Yeah, weird I know.

thanks for the comments guys, i upgraded it cause it was already giving me problem.

haven't checked out pwnage tool though.

but battery is just draining like crazy. fully charged can last me about 12 hours plus or so with very little usage. 10 hours max with in between usage of apps etc.
