Dear KK,

Thank you for emailing Nokia Careline.

In regards to your enquiry, the software is still V20. Nokia has not recalled the software. The only issue is that you would have to update the software at the local Nokia Care Centres.

Dear KK,

At the moment the update is only available at the local Nokia Care Centres. It is because the NCC, has a different way of updating the phone software, hence the software is not available through the Internet or the NSU. It is also advisable to have the NCC perform software upgrades since the phone is still under warranty, main reason is because some times during or after performing a update on the phone. The phone some how or rather cannot be switched on, there have been cases as such reported and the solution is to book into the NCC for recovery.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

You may like to visit our website at www.nokia.com.au for more information and support for your Nokia device. If you have further enquiries, please contact Nokia Careline at 1300 881 600. We operate between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm, seven days a week.

V2.1 is more stable (according to i-tech) and of coz is compatible with V2.0, but no point if 5800 cant enjoy the 2.1 feature, and for ur info V2.1 bluetooth more expensive.

I know, it was posted by me.  laugh.gif
I think in brighter light the cover won't affect it as much. I tried it again today in another room which has more light in it and can't seem to differentiate the 2. Still I'm stickin' with the "better colour with cover off" theory.

if i not wrong, nokia already aware that they choose a wrong material for manufacturing that piece of transparent plastic lens cover.

No i know why my garmin take 2-3 minute to lock  sweat.gif  before this it lock so fastttttt  hmm.gif
must be my little brother kacau my phone setting  doh.gif
a-GPS are enable but still take longggggggggg time to lock...then i manage to set "Access Point" then wahlawwwwwww it lock fast again~!

moral of the story, even u enable a-GPS but not setting Access Point for Positioning Server then a-GPS will not work even 10000000000000 times u reset da phone.

I bought my screen protector for RM8 including the person sticking for you le. Why do u want to go for all the hassle when they can settle for u

Hello sir please compare overall. Its like u compare the best of 5800 then compare with an iphone but the rest of its weakness you didnt mention.
Did you mention iphone limitation? Every phone have its pros and cons. Dont just bring out tis pros and ignore its cons

Added on February 19, 2009, 8:58 am

all model mention above have its own pros and cons.  Touchscreen yes samsung and iphone sure win because nokia is their first touchscreen. Samsung already came out like 10 different models but still cant get market share and iphone already 2nd version edi. But you know what is the amazing news for 5800 price tag u cant get a samsung or iphone touchscreen phone with so many features pack in one
*
why compare 2 phone that are in totally diff price tag?

yeah.. its true.. no such feature in our tube.. hope nokia will add that feature... later..  doh.gif

i'm also a bit disappointed with the music features... no dedicated music key.. to start the player... that mean.. even we are wearing our headset.. when we wanna hear the music.. we have to take out tube out.. then unlock the fon.. start the player manually.... ( i really missed Sony Ericsson music friendly-features...) ... so IMHO i think the attached headset controller (play button) should work as a dedicated music key... n i also hope.. dat.. the volume rocker key should work as next n previous track button when hold-press action taken...    shocking.gif

pls deliver dis message to nokia engineer.. so hopefully all the features will b included in next firmware.... icon_rolleyes.gif

totally agree, no dedicated music key, i have no idea why this tube call <music express> shakehead.gif

make the tube look crappy. If thats is the design of 5800 i wouldnt buy at all
*
not really.
if you look at the right hand side, the hole is too small, very hard to switch the keyguard button.

yes, the biggest problem now is once u talk more than 60 minutes the phone will auto explore.
nokia going to release a new firmware to delay the talk time to 120 minutes, so that you can talk longer before kill by the phone. tongue.gif
