I think in brighter light the cover won't affect it as much. I tried it again today in another room which has more light in it and can't seem to differentiate the 2. Still I'm stickin' with the "better colour with cover off" theory.
In my case, the culprit wasn't really the cover but it was the screen protector covering the camera window.I think in brighter light the cover won't affect it as much. The moment I removed the screen protector for the camera, the colors for the night indoor pictures looked brighter.
