I have a quick question, will most AP resellers have a trade in for older phones? For example, phones that are less than a year old?

I want to get this W995 but I also need to know if trade in is also possible for it in exchange for a cheaper price.

As for original set from Sony Style or Sony Centres, I've yet to see one W995 sold there.

However near my working place, inside Suria KLCC there is a DiGi store that sells handsets with line or without line. Of course with line more expensive than without line. So its RM1999 without line and RM1899 with line.

Pretty expensive Market Retail Price.

^^ But RM2000, pretty cutting it close unless I'm pulling in RM5k a month for my gaji. tongue.gif

I just want to see how Sony Centre's price it. Thats also to say that I can hold off and perhaps see if I should get this phone or the Satio by the time 3rd quarter rolls out.

Hooooo, if that is the case then I'll definitely wait out for the price to drop. Probably it'll drop more towards the end of the year.

Like for example; I own a Samsung SGH-480 aka TOCCO. Bought it at market price of RM1700 in August 2008. Now its going to be close to one year after that. The market price now is at RM1399 after I've done some recent research.

If it drops at least RM300 for the W995 then it will come under consideration for me.

I saw in Sony Style KLCC, they have not even put up a display of the phone as of yet. There is brochures on their product and also the price listing; confirmed its RM1,999 (I can hear my bank account sighing heavily).

As far as the reviews are concerned, I'll only believe it once I've tested it myself. But without a testing model, how to judge?

What I am more concerned about is whether the problems of the C905 has been rectified in this model. Importantly is the loudness of the Ring Tone of the W995; as I cannot seem to pick up my phone in busy places even with a vibration set on.

Hopefully other stores outside of Sony Centres will offer a lower price. But I foresee it won't go beyond RM1899.

Mizu: Testing the ringing volume would be a bit of a trick unless the test model of the phone already has a SIM Card in it.

Since you only got a sample of the sound loudness via Walkman App, there is a chance that out of the App, ring tone would be different.

Ohh your mini review almost got me in shock because of the ring volume issue!! tongue.gif

Aiyah, if me, I'd bluetooth a tune (short ring tone) into the phone and then test the MP3 + Ringtone Loudness. Easy as that.

The more I read the more I am feeling safe for not seriously buying the phone as of yet.

That means the sets currently being sold even for AP ones have bug issues, and if its affecting the WiFi then its one big issue for me.

Good good, I can hold on to my money and wait and see what is the progress, who knows the Satio maybe a better option!!
