I'm online now actually.
If you see me on, gimme a challenge. Remember, it's Artelier there. EDIT: Been trying to get to play this guy there called Jerm but the app keeps quitting. We can still try though, if you're up for it. This post has been edited by Darkstalker: Mar 16 2009, 08:26 PM |

Is there a way to play GGPO without having to Port Forward? |

I have no idea. I think port forwarding only affects your ability to host matches (that's how it is in 2DF).
You can try and see. I'll be logged onto GGPO. |

Hey Peter your Guile is the most offensive Guile I've seen so far :].
I think the new system (Focus attack) of the game is designed to break through the defense of players who're 100% on the defensive side. I think they would be defeated by a good Zangief or El Fuerte player Even though the game is less exciting, I don't mind fighting them because there are lots of ways to punish them when they block or crouch too much including jumping attacks, crouching unblockable special attacks from Rufus and Balrog, OVERHEAD attacks (i.e front medium punch for Ryu and Akuma), grapples, level 3 focus attacks and finally RAGING DEMON At least most of us just love our offensive games. What's the point of playing a 'fighting game' if you don't fight or attack? The best players in Japan (= in the world) such as Daigo, Mago and Momochi are VERY/EXTREMELY offensive when they play, sometimes their opponents didn't even have the chance to counter attack!! Hey Michael & Nick & Peter how come you all didn't join the major competition last month? If good players from your group competed the top 3 positions would change This post has been edited by twwong: Mar 17 2009, 04:46 PM |

Those crouching unblockables are normally referred to as "overheads."
Basically, must block high. |

lol crouching unblockables. what a fancy way to call an overhead attack heh
just got back from my first arcades session after a month hiatus, learned some stuff from a vega(dictator) who taught me how to counter his moves etc. he used to play blanka but he said blanka's boring haha. i need to work more on my defense.. one thing for sure, playing on the arcades feel much nicer than on HRAP3, everything is just smoother i dunno |

Probably the buttons (HRAP3's buttons are a little stiff) or the stick (HRAP3 uses a square gate I believe).

QUOTE(brastel @ Mar 16 2009, 10:46 PM) lol crouching unblockables. what a fancy way to call an overhead attack heh Wow Brastel, you really are in a good location (Nippon!!!) to have first-hand experience with Japanese play-style. Seen any top-level game play there? If so, must be very exciting, to even be a bystander!just got back from my first arcades session after a month hiatus, learned some stuff from a vega(dictator) who taught me how to counter his moves etc. he used to play blanka but he said blanka's boring haha. i need to work more on my defense.. one thing for sure, playing on the arcades feel much nicer than on HRAP3, everything is just smoother i dunno All SF4 cabinets there are like this right? Taito Vewlix *yummy* ![]() Not even a full Sanwa-modded HRAP3 can compare with the experience of being there. |

aiman: If im not mistaken, japanese standard's square too. Anyway yeah maybe its the buttons and the whole thing itself moves when i play haha.
rawfish: yeah the arcade near my place is the taito viewlix, everything is damn nice (buttons, graphics etc). no words can really describe that. but not everywhere is like that. the place i usually go for freeplay nights(at shibuya) uses some ghetto cabs, lo res and not so good buttons. since im still on hols, i might wander around other arcades to fight others and learn. since my weakness currently is defense and i cant really learn defense from fighting arcade's cpu, i'll go to arcades with lotsa people and crazy competition, might cost me some money but like they say, no pain no gain XD though when im broke i'll just go to my friend's and play on ps3 haha. but whenever i can afford it, arcades the way to go for me.. |

Food was good and reasonably priced, Alan. Don't worry. Although Peter mentioned why his Chicken Chop a bit more "hangus" than mine and Abel's. LOL. Perhaps add more new item in menu like "Hokkien Mee with extra Chu Yau CHar", "Chu Yoke" Noodles, "Ku Lou Yuk" Rice or even Marmite "Pai Kuat" Rice?
Speaking like a rich b@stard: Hmmm. Taito Vewlix. Interesting. I don't mind having one or two of those in my living room. How much does one of those retails for? This post has been edited by hatred___: Mar 17 2009, 09:36 AM |
