I think what set iphone apart is its uniqueness, no phone in the current market has ever came close to iphone, and iphone is sorta like a revolution in the mobile phone industry, look, after iphone came out, competitors are trying to bring down the iphone by marketing phones with touch screen ( that relies fully on touch not stylus ) even nokia who isn't really in touch screens has already marketed their own distinctive brand of s60 touch. Say whatever u want, but its the iphone who has really change the mobile industry once and for all.
Sure, functions like bluetooth and gps are severely hindered in the iphone, but that doesn't really impact the really user friendly interface and the smooth mechanism of the iphone.
As I heard someone saying before, the iPhone (even at the current time) is at least 5 years ahead in technological advancement compared to any single mobile phone on the planet (including the long-standing Windows Mobile!). This probably explains the reason why no phone so far has come close to the iPhone. Sure, functions like bluetooth and gps are severely hindered in the iphone, but that doesn't really impact the really user friendly interface and the smooth mechanism of the iphone.
To joejoe_n, if I were you, I'd get the 16GB just because it is white in colour and not because it is 16GB!
otherwise, 8GB would do just fine as 8GB can provide a lot of space already.
