lol.. there're a number of us (not more than 20) graduated from UK last year under this AhLong named 'PETRONAS'.
As usual, same as local grads, we've to take SI and etc2. Some of us passed, and some failed. For them who failed the SI, immediately they prepare for your Repayment Loan letter and the Release Letter. For one of us, under special PETRONAS project which they've sent the top/super cream of the cream student for their A Level/IB abroad ie; UK has been released due to not passing the SI. Unlucky for him, he got released, and obviously, being abroad for 6 years won't be cheap!
He has been asked to pay for 30% of the loan, RM275k approx for monthly RM1300.00 (no mistake with this figure) and increased with RM100 every year. Where the hell a graduate electronics engineer can earn up to their expectation with the loan amount repayment.
I'm a graduate, recommended list from overseas as well and yet still waiting. My senior, graduated with 1st class, recommended, yet been released coz PETRONAS failed to employ.
Other than that, my advise is, AVOID PETRONAS! they're !@#$%^& evil.
for those who has brothers/sisters, don't let them take PETRONAS 'scholarship'. There are lot more helpful sponsorship than this AhLong. I regret my decision to put aside MARA and JPA offer earlier.
MARA: 1st class= apprxo 1%-5%
2nd upper: 10%
2nd lower: 15%
3rd class: 30%
PETRONAS: 1st class= 10%
2nd upper: 15%
2nd lower: 30%
3rd class: (never dream to be still sponsored with this result. U'll terminated before your graduation) btw, the figure approx is 50%
Wah..
That means ur fren pay back ony 30% (275K) of the total amount given to him (916.7K)??
That's humble enough..
