I'm quite interested with this phone as well. The 12MP cam. and Xenon is really attracting me. I'm currently comparing this with Samsung OmniaHD/i8910. Iduo has a high MP count, but base on SE track record, i'm a bit worry about it's video capturing function.

One question, is it using the capacitive touch screen (like Iphone)? Or a normal PDA one? OmniaHD i8910 is using the capacitive one.

QUOTE(Mr.Ken @ Mar 17 2009, 10:23 AM) same as what u get from the X1 Means that it is resistive? What a put off for such a great phone Here is the explaination: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TouchscreenGenerally, resistive touch screen offer less clarity and the screen can feel a bit soft. You need something to poke or press on in order for the 2 thin layers of conductive material to close the circuit to register a touch. Less sensitive. Capacitive touch screen is more sensitive and offer a better clarity and you don't have to physically touch the screen to register a touch. Iphone is using this kind of touch technology. Disadvantage is you can only register a touch with your finger, no pen stylus or other object. This post has been edited by chtan: Mar 17 2009, 11:25 AM

QUOTE(Vervain @ Mar 18 2009, 07:13 AM) Basically its either manufacturer which to design the device to recognize handwritten or not. Unless they develop their own OS, pretty much they have to stick to the conventional resistive screen to eliminate any problem arise I think both are designed for different consumer needs. Idou might not be as internet savvy as Xperia. Its more of an entertaining device as opposed to business type Er...Samsung OmniaHD running on S60 5.0 is using capacitive touch screen so i guess you don't have to really develop your own OS for that. Pretty much all touch screen OS can handle capacitive touch screen, it just the phone manufacturer's discretion whether want to use the better or the old touch screen tech.
