What I hope is they will still keep the same input like 5800xm.

its more like an experience provider unit than a phone. Still SE has yet reveal on how the input capabilities will be. Its a concern as the feature is used daily.

QUOTE(chtan @ Mar 17 2009, 11:13 AM) Means that it is resistive? What a put off for such a great phone Basically its either manufacturer which to design the device to recognize handwritten or not. Unless they develop their own OS, pretty much they have to stick to the conventional resistive screen to eliminate any problem ariseHere is the explaination: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchscreen Generally, resistive touch screen offer less clarity and the screen can feel a bit soft. You need something to poke or press on in order for the 2 thin layers of conductive material to close the circuit to register a touch. Less sensitive. Capacitive touch screen is more sensitive and offer a better clarity and you don't have to physically touch the screen to register a touch. Iphone is using this kind of touch technology. Disadvantage is you can only register a touch with your finger, no pen stylus or other object. QUOTE(Princess90 @ Mar 17 2009, 11:47 PM) Yeah... I think X1 users must b very furious now. I think both are designed for different consumer needs. Idou might not be as internet savvy as Xperia. Its more of an entertaining device as opposed to business typeThey spend 3k buying d X1, now SE release a better 1! I hope 2 get this phone though.. But it'll burn my pocket |

Silver looks good but red looks tempting. To me the design is top notch. But the operating system is a slight let down. Refering to the prebundle racing game. As we all know 3d games running under symbian will not yield a good gaming experience. I would suggest SE to bundle interesting puzzle games instead. That should at least hinder the phone's weakness. Another complain is on the 3.5mm headphone jack. Wait, there isn't any on the phone. It's going to look dorky with a fast port popping out from the side. Users will need to carry the additional headphone or port just to enjoy the multimedia features.

It very much depends. Between the 2, both have it's own pros & cons. If I need a basic phone to be used on a regular basis, SE seems practical. Reason why it's basically a phone cum smart devices. Garmin, good point & shoot camera, sleak design to walk around and hold for long hours of talk, good structural strength when kept in tight jeans, etc. These are the much realistic criteria which you will need when carrying the phone around.
Iphone on the other hand would be classified a multimedia device ported to a mobile phone. We see how much efficient and easy it is to navigate all the multimedia functions around. & there are tonnes of interesting softwares out there. Yes, the design is boring but the function is borderless. Pretty much it's like carrying a pc on the go. You'll be browsing or playing the games more than talking or snapping on pictures. What I'm trying to convey here is, Satio is more geared towards day to day phone use, while Iphone 3gs, is more of a multimedia device. My pick? Iphone, yeah, It might have lack in hardware capabilities, but so far, I've yet seen a user complaining on the software itself. Pretty much they design the software to fit the phone, as opposed to Satio. Hope you picture what I'm trying to say. So Pana, this will be your next phone? |

It works like your average computer. If you're well versed with linux, this is a great phone for you. Yes there's a X terminal.
What's the main highlight on this phone is on the OS itself. If you can find any source code software in the net, just compile it to maemo, & it should theoretically work on the device. |

Intro prices floats around 2.4k-2.6k for n97 if my memory serves me right. 3k? he's been ripped. You can get even better phone with that price.
I dont think this device will mark it's price around 3k. It's suicidal. Remember, this is a smart phone. 2k-2.2k seems like a good mark to start off the phone. Remember, the phone doesn't have an internal memory. Rely sole on external storage. & ram size is considerably small. Nevertheless, the aesthetic design is the main selling point. |

capacitive wins if input requires high tolerance. Plus point is it can recognize multiple point at one go unlike resistive. Which is why you can type fast in multitouch devices. As for resistive, it accepts single accurate input. Which is why you cannot hit multiple location at one go & with a big thumb. It's based on pressure contact. Plus point? you can tease those capacitive users with accurate drawings. Both has it's application and use. Nowadays capacitive screen seems more practical as most of the time we would choose to use our finger rather than the stylus.

Speed would be apparent if you type qwerty fast on portrait mode. To those whom live in cold climates will very much benefit on resistive touch screen. No frost bite fingers.
Anyway lets stick back to the topic. This post has been edited by Vervain: Oct 5 2009, 11:34 PM |

don't convert la. That pricing is for foreign market unless you're going to buy from there. We earn 2k RM here while they earn 2k Euro. So basically it's affordable for them. There should be a benchmark pricing for asia market.

I think their reason for jacking up the high price tag is due to the processing hardware. It does come with it's own dedicated graphics chip. But if sales is bad, price will drop.
