For those that have covered the red light with a blu-tac, can it completely block the light? Because if we just use our fingers the light still penetrates our fingers =/

Also, when peeling off the blu-tac, does it leave any oily residue?

The N82 is a great phone with a great camera, but the shutter sound + red light is driving me crazy o_O Such a shame.

just want to ask you... how's the battery life of n82 compared to n95 8gb?

Added on March 22, 2009, 3:05 am

cheaper than selangor?

afaik it's about the same, but still cheaper than other states..donno la if its cheaper in penang..

I using n95 8gb just for 2 week. What i can say is, i need to charge everynight.(very heavy sms user here).
And for my n82, the battery can last for 2 days with heavy sms.
For me,n95 8gb more power hungry than n82 due to big screen factor (alway use this feature when use phone) and for n82 is due to xenon flash (seldom use this feature)

i can help you there with the shutter sound. actually is is compulsory for asian countries to have shutter sound and red light for cameraphones..

change product code to euro1 and update to the euro1 firmware.

Well, im not a heavy texter, but i do take photos with my camera a lot and i suspect if im using n82 it will drain more batt power because of the xenon flash...especially at night or indoors.

About the Euro firmware, yeah I know about that. But not willing to do something as risky, plus, changing to euro means will lose the chinese characters right?

Hey can you take a picture on your paper method? Won't the red light still pass through?

yeah... if you dont know how to update firmware, maybe u shouldnt do it.

but i learned it myself and it was easy enough to understand. i dont see it as a risk because the difference between updating your phone with original FW and updating your phone with EURO FW is to change the codes to EURO only. that's all. then, the rest of the steps are the same, just update with nokia software updater. p.s. chinese language is not included in euro fw
yeah method works..i use something like a cut out cigarette box

Must cover thicker layer. Otherwise, in between the blu-tack layer, put some non-transparent piece.

Blu-tack is non oily and will not leave residue. If may leave a bit residue, but it you keep on roll over with blu-tac (like kneading the roti canai dough tongue.gif ) it will come off easily.

Yes, similiar like plasticine, but is non oily (although officially, blu-tack has oil as ingredient). I bought another brand, 3 strips for RM1.60. So far only used up very little, not even 5%.
