Some format like .avi , which is Windows Media Player cannot support , so I play it on MPCStar , I only saw black screen , but sounds running
( I tried uninstall MPCStar , reinstall , and reinstall Windows Media Player 10 or 11 not sure , still same )
From google , I found this solution

"From the description of having two players open it sounds exactly like an overlay issue. You should be able to note the same effect using the same player opened twice (MPC can have multiple instances open at once I know). The first player is using an overlay (and not working so you don't see anything), the second is not running with an overlay and just going directly to your CPU. Your webcam videos probably are decoded by some funky codec that only outputs RGB, thus no overlay.

However a System Restore should have solved all the issues. First I would recommend using the MPC's CCCP again, and try changing the video renderer used Options->Playback->Output->DirectShow Video. Perhaps one of them will be more friendly, try VMR7/9 and Overlay Mixer (should be default).

Otherwise I would suggest you reinstall DirectX 9.0c again, also try re-installing WMP10 (solves DirectShow issues of weirdness). And most importantly find the good set of video card drivers you used before. The problem most likely stems from the video card drivers.

If none of this still works, and you are despairingly hopeless, you can trix your way around the problem by forcing all ffdshow output to RGB (which will use no overlay). FFDShow Video Config->Output->Uncheck all YUV colorspaces."

But I don't get it

Can someone help please ?

Did u install codec so that you can view .avi files? Maybe after u install a codec then u can watch .avi files on WMP. I personally recommend satsuki. Anyway, I think what they are trying to say is they want you to do some directshow video settings.

Try opening the file using media player classic

Er no , MPCStar when I check its supported format , it include .avi format
I just wonder why it is black screen , even mp4 , .rm file , only sound running
WMP , before install MPCStar , it cannot play .rm file , after install MPCStar ( along with codec ) WMP can play
Although MPCStar support .avi , but still , black screen

Do yu open MPCStar along with Winamp?

If yes, dont do that.

What I suggest is:
1. Uninstall MPCStar
2. Install K-Lite Mega Codec (Download Here)

I installed the codes 10.8.

When i try to play .mkv, it appears to be a black screen with audio playing.
I try play using VLC Player, the pixels seems broken (but good audio).

Do i have to set any specific settings while installing??
Confused..
