Any of the gurus here can guide me on any available software or how can i search my contacts by phone numbers rather than names?

Just type the number in your phone and call. If it's in your phone book, it'll display the name.

If you have a jail broken phone, you can download through cydia an app called "Quickgold" which is an app launcher cum search engine. You can type in anything and it will look for it on your iphone. Typing a phone number will bring up the contact associated to it.
