QUOTE(Neo18 @ Feb 17 2009, 03:42 PM) abit on the upside i would say resort, looking at pattern it has been hovering over 2.24 so i would still consider as safe but judging from Neo big chunky facility shud be room to avrg down in any event. It him against the market forces now.QUOTE(sampoo @ Feb 17 2009, 03:59 PM) hard to say maybe he got insider newsleh ?QUOTE(sharesa @ Feb 17 2009, 04:07 PM) wow, Neo, you really have many bullets and other ammunition to spare! get rich or die trying....But am just wondering, isn't it more capital preserving if you do not scatter your counters, instead focus on few good ones? Or maybe you might be jumping into the bandwagon too quickly? Coz , my opinion is market is quite erratic these days. For me, I'm still afraid to commit much. |

I only play with my own cash. Playing margin is very risky.
Invest/trade within own means. QUOTE(aoisky @ Feb 17 2009, 02:45 PM) |

QUOTE(viper88 @ Feb 17 2009, 04:25 PM) I agree. If we play margin, we need to pay monthly interest for the borrowed money, on top of that, when share prices drop down to a certain target, you have to top up the difference of the price by cash.If unable to, then have to sell the shares that you are holding . |

QUOTE(Neo18 @ Feb 17 2009, 03:54 PM) No, my previous statement doesn't mean that it is good for long term either.Until it sort out its overseas operation, it is not suit to long term which has no sign until now. Only Malaysia operation is earning them profit, others are leaking money, which is not good for the shareholders. By no mean, Astro longer future is proven to be good especially in overseas whereby competition is intense unlike in Malaysia, Astro is monopolised business which gov has signed with them, no other statelite TV broadcaster is allowed until 201x (forget what year liao) Just my opinion though. |

I fully understand the downside, as well as up side. Also, i notice very strong support @ RM2... anyway, go down buy somemore lor..hahaha this next 4 month is buying period This post has been edited by Neo18: Feb 17 2009, 05:24 PM |

Me Jupiter remiser said watch Gamuda price.. if fall to 1.89-1.90 can grab some.
March stimulus plan will give good boost in contruction sector and Gamuda is tipped to gain from it. Zelan oso stand good chance to rise if theres positive news on construction sector. I sold off some of my Zelan stock.. made only peanuts.. Still have alot in hand.. average price 0.80. If someone wants to make a substantial profit (can be loss), at least have to borrow a large sum of money, say $500,000 . (To have this facility, you need at least $160,000 of your own asset as collateral) 500,000 x 5% /annum = $25,000/year. If bear market like this carry on for months or years, servicing the interest alone can erode whatever dividends received and his own capital. On top of that, as mentioned earlier is the capital top-up, if necessary. Even if someone's risk appetite is lower, $50,000 x 5%/annum = $$2,500/year Still, interest only is $208/month Most of the time, bank is winner and clients are losers. My opinion is margin play will do better when market is bullish. This post has been edited by sharesa: Feb 17 2009, 07:35 PM |

QUOTE(sharesa @ Feb 17 2009, 07:05 PM) 5% interest is already a lot. I agree with that. Leveraging your money during a bear market is like leveraging your losses. The risk is just too high, not worth it. If someone wants to make a substantial profit (can be loss), at least have to borrow a large sum of money, say $500,000 .
