I gave my N82 a lock code, then promptly forgot it. Its been about 6 months since its been off - until this week when I changed carriers and put a new sim card in. I had absolutely no idea of what code I gave it...tried every combination of birthday, post-code, pets name, old phone number, everything to no avail.

Looked on here, but the phone is off, not on...so can't get past the lock code to do all this NSS stuff myself.

Rang Nokia, they said bring it to the store with the original receipt, they will reset the phone and all my data will be lost...and they will charge me around USD 30 bucks.

Instead I went to a little private shop who had no interest in my receipt and unlocked the code without losing a single byte of data.
I have no idea what they did - but don't let anyone tell you it cannot be done. I couldn't turn the thing on, I couldn't connect it to PC...but this guy gave it back to me on, with all data, and actually told me what code I'd used (which of course I remembered immediately).

CAN BE DONE!!!
