As I was part of a committee of a sub-standard noob con as well....i can understand the problems and difficulties faced by jeffrey and his team but I also can understand everyone's disappointment with a sub-par event. Again i'll have to play devil's advocate.

for Event goers:
Please be more understanding on the plight of organisers and understand that NO ONE organises an event to fail. It is also not easy to setup an event no matter how you thought you could've made it much better....it will never go 100% according to plan. With experience though, you can close the gap between expectations and the actual event. Also event has alot of people to manage and when even if someone fails to do his/her part, a big impact to the event can happen. So all i can say is keep your comments constructive...don't expect too much and be overcritical of a startup con/event. Hopefully next event will be a better one! wink.gif

for Event organisers:
For you to actually organise the event is already an achievement by itself. rclxms.gif It was no easy task but you brought a rickety band of students together and organised something out of nothing. Don't take all negative comments personally though....as event goers tend to have an expectation they expect to be fulfilled. Don't try to defend yourself too much on the internet either as it tends to bait trolls and other less-tactful posters to engage in a trolling session and you might get needlessly worked up over nothing. Do not in any circumstance insult or scold the event goers for their comments as they have shown their support by attending your event. Have some PR skills, and try to elate their disappointment by making a better one next time in a hope to win back their confidence. Very important: Have a post-mortem session and discuss feedback from all parties including your committee right after the event if possible. What went wrong? What can we do to improve next time? What have we learned? Ask these questions, document them, and at least learn from the experience.

PS: pls try not to go down to personal attacks on jeffrey's command of english. Let it rest.
