actually, how do u check a phone is working well aka functioning normally when u just bought a phone? what steps to take is crucial?

i wonder. in terms of tahan-ness. which phone is better? n97mini or n900?
both are treated with same care. which one will last longer? and which phone has the most stable and frequently updated firmware? |

i know its not launched yet but the overall specs is all over the web.
