It's the Bold 9700 (Bold 2) or Bold 9000? If it's the former, buy it, you can sell in Malaysia @ higher price.. Then use the money to buy Nokia e72, and you still have leftover, lolz..

Ok back to your question, Blackberry is only better than Nokia in very few, but important aspects.

1. It's all about email & messaging. No matter how good Nokia is (or other phone makers, you name it), no one beats BB.. They are the only ones with true push email functions.. You REALLY only pay what you use. Whereas Nokia, their technology is not quite that sophisticated, and you normally have to connect to the net to retrieve emails.. Now here's the significant difference: if you are using a limited data plan, BB would be a definite choice, as you won't need to constantly connect to the net every hour or so to retrieve your mails, as you do with Nokia. BB's technology allows them to make emails like sms, and you'll only be charged when you receive the mails. And BB compresses the mails to minimum size possible, so you'd be charged with less data transfer. If you are unlimited data plan user, you can online 24/7 it ain't no matter. From here, most people would choose Nokia than BB, because the online data charge for BB unlimited plan is more expensive than usual mobile internet unlimited package. But here's the trick: even though you can online 24/7, you wouldn't switch on your 3G network this way. Why? Because it drains your battery life like hell. Your fully-charged device might not even make it through the day. That is why BB online package still triumphs.

2. It's again about email & messaging, but this time in terms of security. BB device has by far the best security level for mobile devices than any other phones in the market. It doesn't mean it won't be attacked by viruses or invasion, but almost impossible. This is extremely important if you're a business guy, always carrying P&C information on your phone. That is why you see the top management people carrying BB rather than say, LG, no offence though.

3. Finally, it's still about email & messaging. Be it e63, e71, e75 or the latest e72 (my favourite), BB is still the better choice. Yes, all these are FULL-QWERTY keypad device, but if you're paying attention to the design of Nokia & BB, BB's toys are really made for typing. The sleek touch, the solidness of the keypad, and the curve on it, are all made to ensure the best possible typing experience. They are wider and easier to feel than Nokia's.

So I hope I have answered your questions. Your final one, Australia-imported device, I would 99% think it can be used in Malaysia, with a Malaysia SIM card. You just need to subscribe to BB's BIS package and off you go. If you think you can't afford the package, then jailbreak it at anywhere, and you can use it as an ordinary phone. You can still online, but only via WiFi. Your call dude...

You mean the 5800Xpress Music has kinetic scrolling? That's great..! But i saw from Nokia Priority pricing at RM1170.. Is the typing experience good? I like the big screen and its design, but it's the touch screen that makes me stay away from it.
*
For the original 5800 set price it's actually depends on the seller. We're offering in RM9XX only. The reason why nokia priority those retails offer more expensive price because they have to mark up their price from their cost to cover their worker expenses, rental etc.
The demand for this model is very high, personally i also like this phone very much because of the screen and the sound quality.

Yeap~

Oh haha no wonder. But in my opinion if you're not rushing to buy a phone i suggest you buy after festival season because due to festival season the phone price is increasing for some hot model which is high demand. So basically used phone price is set base on brand new set so after festival season if the brand new set price is drop of course for used set price will drop as well smile.gif

So you mean the touch-screen function for 5800 is good? i read the review from www.gsmarena.com and the rating is about average.
*
Personally I think the touch screen function for 5800 is not bad compare with others touch screen phone around this budget. Actually this is very subjective issue because different people might have different perception towards an item.
