No. take the SE Satio and N8 for example. Both have 12 MP cameras, but the N8 is clearly way better than the Satio. Or take the N86 vs the W995i. Both have 8MP cameras (in fact W995i has 8.1MP) but still the N86 is better. Or perhaps the N82 and the SE Vivaz Pro.

In night mode, Nokia's camera quality is still better than SE.

But to be honest, I don't really recommend Nokia or SE if you are planning to use this for like 2-3 years. At present both Nokia and SE is losing ground.

How's the photo quality on your HTC Desire? Not so good right?
Photo qualities are important to me and recording videos as I travel overseas a lot so need to need to capture a lot

For <rm1700 category, it's the Desire vs Nokia N8 but there is a clear winner here.
What are the main issues with N8?

It seems that I'll just stick to my SE C905 until a good smartphone comes out that can match N8's camera qualities.
C905's photos are nice but the videos are just average and the sound quality is bad.

Appreciate your comments. Yes, iPhone 4 is impressive. But, pixel density may not be as important as screen size or resolution when it comes to app compatibility (I don't know, I'm half-asking).

GSMArena has comments such as "small screen size means limited number of apps can be used" or "poor/low resolution means lack of app compatibility" and though there are plenty of Motorolas, Nokias, and iPhones with resolutions higher than the LG, running OSs other than Android, the main issue would be its 320x480.

129g I think is the weight, which is heavier than what I'm used to but worth the other specs. I couldn't care less about the crappy 3.2 MP camera, though I may have overused my old 2 MP camera at one point.
