Other details:

- Double elimination format. 3 rounds per match, 99 seconds.
- You may bring your own joystick or controller. However, as the competition is being run on Sony PlayStation 3 game consoles, you'll be required to bring your own adapter if your controller is incompatible with the PS3.
- All console characters allowed EXCEPT Seth.
- No excessive swearing, pushing, or shoving during competition. Players who act unruly during competition will be given a warning first. If they act unruly again, they will be disqualified.
- Players are not allowed to let other contestants fight their fights.
- Players are allowed to change their control settings except using short cut buttons for combo or revenge mode
- Players who accidentally or intentionally pauses the game during the competition will be given a warning. The next time it happens, they will be disqualified.
- Tournament rules are subject to change. The organizers and judges decisions are final.

Good move forward for Malaysia! Could you please tell:

1) What sticks will be used, and if we can bring our own?
2) PS3 or XBOX360?
3) The tournament system e.g. double elimination (reference: http://evo2k.com/playerGuide/format.php)
4) Any banned characters e.g. Akuma/Gouken/Seth
5) Any other specific rules e.g. banning turbo buttons, accidental START presses, etc.

I know details may be scarce, but definitely welcomed

It's so obvious that it stated SONY PLAYSTATION 3

So far, we don't know till what extent Sony and GH's involvement and support in this tournament is. By all means, it could very much be played on GH's 360s while the grand prize is forked out by Sony. Or a combination of 360s and PS3s. Show me a part of any T&C or Tournament Rules that "obviously stated" it will be played on the PS3 platform.

In the end I believe this will also be based on the crowd's response, and it may even be down to single PS3 where people take turns to play elimination style, or an army of PS3s where the general public can test and play the game.

It never hurts to ask.

The tournament will be run on Sony PlayStation 3s as it's sponsored by Sony. I'll be updating this flyer soon.

By the way, Seth is banned from the tournament. Rest of the other console characters can be used.

Added on February 25, 2009, 2:52 pmi can't get the charge buffering done from headbutt into ultra. any technical advice? all i do is hold db, then ub + hp, land (still holding back), forward back forward + 3p. no ultra.

halamakkk if only ive seen this thread earlier, i couldve practiced more haha... I joined the tournament but because I had barely any practice, only won once out of 6 matches.

To anyone who was there and met me, I was that guy wearin brown tshirt and using the brand new hori stick hahaha. Group A's Abel user. XD.

I think you're pressing it too fast. Doing it too fast gets you nothing.

If you want a visual cue, after the headbutt, the opponent is around Balrog's own head height is when the 3 punches or kicks should be pressed.
